Most likely will follow your brothers path but don’t sell the college degree and experience short. Pretty sure you can get the same insurance as fb players.

It's really tough to build top college baseball programs when your coach does the right thing by going after the best players and getting them to sign and play for their school when pro baseball is standing there taking their time to ###### the best HS players out of the hands of college coaches. This is a real problem that has been hurting college baseball for a very long time that has needed to be fixed for a very long time, IMO!!!

I strongly disagree. Baseball has the best draft policy of any of the major sports regarding high school/college players. And it fits the sport perfectly.

What is the last day to sign a MLB contract?

Jun 5, 2018, 10:54 AM

The MLB website says August 15. A T-Net article says mid-July. TIA.

It's kinda hard to find an updated one out there, but MILB lists it as July 15: http://www.milb.com/milb/info/calendar.jsp

So, what you're saying is it should be the same policy for football? Perhaps we may have never seen DW4 play at the college level. No, I disagree - I think the NFL got it right. Should be pushing kids to get an education and not pushing them away from it !!!

Most of these kids become HS graduates that in order to get a college degree have a heck of a time doing so. Even if they do happen to make it to MLB they don't play long. Take Seth's advice and go play college BB first.

DW4 would not have been ready out of HS***

Don't kid yourself into thinking the NFL is pushing these guys to get

an education. The NFL is doing what it feels is in its own best interest and that's using CFB as a free farm system.

Absolutely kerigantoo, I just wasn't going to comment on such a perfectly close minded statement!!!

I agree with you Kerrigan. Of the big three sports football has the best options.

I think the NBA really hurts basketball

Fixed? Can’t fix what’s not broken...

Potential college baseball players are getting their fair market value on day 1. No pretense. High school Basketball should go back to same thing. Oh, yeah...he’s gone.
