Question for structural engineers

I am working on an uncovered residential deck that has a girder running through the center of the deck. How long can a triple 2x12 girder span that has attached to it (with hangars) 2x8x10 joist 16” O.C. on BOTH sides of the girder. All wood members are pressure treated #2 pine with 5/4x 6 decking boards on top.
Thanks

Depends. Do you have 82.45 million piers under it supporting

it?
Did you then tie it down with a 200 foot hand dug foundation anchor every 6 inches?
If not, ooooh boy is it ever in trouble of blowing up.

7'-0. but i would design it for a max. deflection of L/480 in which case the max span would be 6'6"

I never max out decks. I always design them for 60 psf Live Load instead of 40 psf Live. Sometimes a lot of people end up on a deck and they fail a lot.

How high off of the ground? What wind zone? Hot tub later?
Could keep going but the trial is still going.

When in doubt make it stout!

Just add another pier and make sure the deck is lag bolted to the house. I've seen more than one fall due to trusting 16 coated nails. Mark Petroski, sociology professor (mid 1980s) had one fall over from the framers using nails to fasten it to the house.

Here in Charleston Most engineers will spec 5/8” through bolts instead of lag bolts.
