Woo Hoo we can dominate the all-popular sports of field hockey and lacrosse. Football, Basketball, Baseball, and now Softball are what moves the needle. If they limited the calculations to those 4 sports the SEC would lap the field.

So you don't care about measuring conferences based

on their overall athletic performance?

I'm not sure why you mentioned baseball and softball. You may enjoy them, but they don't "move the needle" when it comes to TV contracts or profitability for schools.

No I’m not interested in comparing conferences in sports that don’t have full participation. There are 79 D1 Field Hockey teams in the country many of those aren’t P5; I’m not interested in comparing the ACC’s success (which has 7 teams) to that of the SEC, Big 12 and PAC 12 who have none.

Also if you don’t think baseball and softball move the needle you need to spend less time on Joe Lunardi’s bracketology site and a little more time watching these sports on TV. We’re fast approaching the day when Baseball and softball TV contracts will be negotiated separately in the same fashion as football and Basketball.

Most sports fans don’t care about college baseball or softball.

I realize that they can be exciting to watch, and have their core group of supportive fans, but both are money losers for schools and they don’t “move the needle” when it comes to negotiating TV contracts. Sorry.

Especially when they are not fall sports since this is the Fall sports recognition.

ACC universities bank the money equally distributed from Clemson Football and use it to fund all the other non-revenue sports at their universities. No real surprise here.

I guess I'm not a real 72 year old alum since this means something to me. I'm proud of all our conference achievements and successes. Dissapointed we're 26 but hopefully once we get the two other sports we can excel in those too.

I'm as proud of our Soccer natty as I am for our football nattys. I sincerely hope Neff puts as much support for rowing, golf, volleyball etc as we do for football. Oh well.
