My member number is 14. I’ve been for from almost the beginning. Tigernet has changed a LOT since then - technologically for the better… substantively? Not so much. Back in the early days you didn’t have the same 7 or 8 people posting 50-60 times a day everyday, whether they actually have anything to say or not. No TU chasing. Less BS nonsense.

Seems the tenor of most posters has morphed into an entitled and spoiled lot. I read, but hardly ever post. I detest jousting with opinionated, spoiled and angry children. who are supposed to be on the same team. The sardonic comment and "coot" calling has gotten out of hand......and I'm opposed to mandatory vaccinations to boot.

Joined while living in Texas after graduating at the end of the Hatfield Era. Started okay, but I feel the cracks formed after home loss to FSU in 1992. Strangely enough, Coach followed me to Rice, where I got to watch the Owls beat Texas for the first time in 27 years in a driving rain storm to capture a share of the penultimate SWC Title. So I got to watch a lot of mediocre football compared to what Dabo has accomplished during his tenure.
The amount of dissatisfaction on the Board amazes me when I see how far this program has advanced. I am grateful for every ounce of success that we have had as it is definitely not promised. Ask Miami, Nebraska, FSU, Texas, the real USC or any number of other programs that were seemingly guaranteed a seat at the Big Table. This run has been great, and I hope it continues, but I hope we fans can continue to enjoy it in the moment and not live in fear of losing it.

Joined in ‘98 when I learned I could follow baseball regionals while I was at work through the magic of BigDaddyPlaybyPlay. I think it was Mississippi State regionals. Work in Columbia so had no radio station that would carry it. Then stayed for the LBOD’s.

My TigerNet Membership is older than my children…and two of them are out of college!
Still enjoy it mostly, but there is a little too much silliness, too much negativity and too much conflict for me sometimes.
I admit I am solidly in the “pumper” category, but I don’t care for the knee jerk, “fire the coach” type comments. I will always support my alma mater 1000%, and will typically trust the administration and coaches to make the best decisions for our university and our athletic department. I am not suggesting that I dislike all posts critical of our administration, coaches, or players…many times criticism is appropriate. I just prefer constructive criticism instead of _____ sux or fire ____.
My humble suggestions for improvement:
1) mods be quicker to remove obvious troublemakers and attacks. I am certainly not an expert on football, so I learn a lot here. But sometimes I feel like I could post “I want Clemson to win every game in every sport” and get blasted here.
2) identify those who award TDs like those who award TUs
3) I know this violates the concept of message boards, but eliminate the ability to post anonymously (my name is on my profile)
4) Figure out a way to eliminate multiple accounts for a single user. Maybe create a minimal membership $1/month and require users to have one.
5) create a lump sum, lifetime membership level (of course still subject to banishment for rules violations).
I will be here another 20+ years, because I love Clemson, I love Clemson athletics, and I love reasonable discussion.

I stumbled across Tigernet or whatever it was called at the time in fall 2000. I want to say I did a google search of "Clemson Tigers" or something and just started reading everything and anything that came up. A WHOLE lot less "hits" back then on the interwebs lol. I didn't create an account for a long time because I usually just get a kick reading everyone else's stuff.

I think I have a userid of 16. If you mouse over your TNET name, a string of text pops up at bottom-left of the browser window you see a note like this (maybe not on the mobile version):

I think the 16 is the userid I was assigned when I first joined. Since I have not rejoined under a new name, I have kept my userid.

Yes, it is my starting point for Clemson sports info. I am not constantly sitting by the computer, but I am constantly logged in to TigerNet. Only computer crashes or OS updates force me to log back in. It helps that no one can access my computer and post crap under my name. Any crap posted is my responsibility. I think a large portion of my posts are Donor Pick Six entries and posting Washington Post articles.
I think back to CATigerMan, Happycat, and Rev Dodd sermons. Simpler times. Joe21 more recently. Can't go back, but miss them.
