Instead of getting big football schools with stadium like us. We ain’t going anywhere with the contract signed by the ACC. This conference will become irrelevant with time . We are going to be like the Nebraska or organ state of the world . We almost good until we get against the big schools in the sec and not potebtially big10 . Sorry don’t shoot the messenger and I hope that I am wrong .

Agree with Syracuse. Pitt has pulled their weight better than Miami, FSU, & VT.

that would've come to the ACC? We got Miami and VT who were big time football schools at the time.
Who else? I can't think of even one.

Swofford was left in charge while member institutions' leadership was asleep at the wheel.
I'm struggling with how public universities supported by taxpayer funds can be handcuffed by a near-perpetual rights agreement. There's a remarkable lack of fiduciary accountability that hasn't been addressed...in my view. I could envision myriad lawsuits pointed at administrations over this whole sordid affair. Of course, not being a lawyer, I'm relying solely on my incredible gut instincts and many nights in a Holiday Inn Express.

Instead of Pitt we should have taken Alabama as they have a large stadium and rabid fan base. Then the ACC could brag about all of those championships. Wonder why we chose Pitt instead of Bama?

Well. if I had to guess... Pitt was chosen over Alabama because there was 'not' a lot of confidence that Clemson could beat Alabama most of the time.

first big deal with ESPN, and suddenly became THE SEC! ESPN constantly harping about that conference being so much better than everybody else, eventually became a self fulfilling prophesy.
The BIG leadership eventually woke up and realized they had to keep pace.
The ACC, Pac-12, and to some extent the Big 12 remained blissfully asleep at the switch.

It will reach it's conclusion when football becomes semi pro with 54 to 64 schools. Academics may be optional for those players. It's there if they want it in addition to the paycheck. Other sports will eventually go back to logical conferences. That is unless one of them because majorly profitable.

Poor analogy

Nebraska is in much better shape than us collecting a huge check in the Big10. Their stadium capacity is around 90,000 and they’ve sold out 389 games in a row. 10 years of poor on field results doesn’t make them irrelevant. Does anyone remember our performance in the 1990s? Nebraska is not irrelevant.

Nebraska has B1G money no doubt but one of the theories of their dramatic fall of was losing access to Texas for recruiting. They spend all that money firing coaches and paying buyouts because they can’t recruit as well in the B1G.
Does that improve under Rhule? Maybe. But seems like Frost would have been the perfect answer and he failed spectacularly.

No mention of BC with the other former Big East members? They have fallen apart in this league too.

Actually bringing in Syracuse and Pitt should have added two large TV markets - NY and PA. Can someone tell ESPN that more people live in those states than many if the $EC states combined: AL, LA, MS, KY, AR, and TN? The ACC television contract should be worth so much more than they are paying.
