Baylor is private so academics are not a concern. Also has a couple of JC players which is a no go at CU. He already makes a million more than CBB plus an easier path to the tournament so why would he come to Clemson?

When we look for a new coach, which won't be this year unless Brad leaves of his own accord, I'd look for a veteran coach.
Steve Alford Thad Motta
Both out of coaching but proven recruiters
Ed Cooley, Providence Richard Johnson at Wofford would get an interview Danny Hurley now at UConn

A few yrs. ago all wanted Shaka Smart, Will Wade etc, etc. No one has the "it" factor based on a year or 2. Now it's all about Buzz Williams etc. We need to keep what we have and not start over. There are a lot of teams behind us in the ACC. Those that think we are ever going to be Duke or UNC or Virginia or even Syracuse in basketball are living in a dream world.

Until you suggested there's no 'Dabo' in basketball. There is...somewhere. Who knows, we may already have the right coach. There was a time when Coach K and Frank Beamer were being T'd up to be run out of town.

Old school that was well said. There is too many who think we should change in order to beat Duke,Virginia etc.Which isn’t going to happen any time soon.Look at our wins when all the great coaches,I’m sorry there has never been one, who beat better teams on a regular basis.

Richard Johnson is AD at Wofford. He has been out of coaching for over a decade at least! Wofford’s current coach just moved into a new building and is quite content to build Wofford into a mid-major power.
Look at Earl Grant, CofC or another respected coach who is willing to take on a tremendous challenge, but a great opportunity as well.
Go Tigers ??!!

This reminds me of the coots when they were looking for a football coach. They thought since they were in the best conference they would have their pick of coaches. Their imaginery list of interested coaches spaned the country. Tom Herman and Kirby Smart was at the top of their list with Justin Fuente as the fall back option. Believe it or not the top coaches were not interested in the job so they would up with their 7 Th choice. The only difference between us and them is we currently have a good coach who can be successful if he gets support

I'm also realistic to know we're looking at a major rebuild the next two years. If somehow we can make the tourney this year, that probably buys Brad time for that rebuild. If we enter off a year where high expectations fell flat, that's not a very tenable position for a coach in years 9 and 10. He'll have the hottest of seats from day 1 next year returning just 1 starter and losing about 90% of production
