You could have 25 recruits that 15 4*s and 10 5*s, but if you don't have the coaches from Top to Bottom coaching up and being able to relate to the recruits at the level they best understand. A team with 15 recruits, 12 4*s, 3 5*s with great coaching Top to Bottom, they will have the better team on the field I would think. It's awesome to pull in that many Top recruits in one recruiting class. But if you don't have a top coaching staff, you're not going to be that much better off with the top recruiting class. My veins are full of orange blood, I love orange cool aid, and everything I see is tinted orange. But I'm not orange blind when it comes to knowing that coaching is more important than the stars that are brought in, and our coaching staff has proven the past 5 year to be a star builder on the field of coaching that can develop top college players, and turning 3 stars and up players, into NFL talent. The proof is in the W/L record books, and in the NFL playing FB!!!

I agree that you have to get them in and coach em up, no matter the talent level. We all know the old adage about hard work beating talent. But.. I would like to think in our case, as with Bama and a few other schools, we are doing both. Getting talent in, and then also coaching them to greater ability. I think our defensive staff has been there for a couple of years, our offensive coaches are starting to really gel, and gaining valuable experience, and our HC has learned his lessons well. As much as we all love CDS, I think it's a fair assessment to say he is still open to learning and that has made this team better every year since he started.

Considering having played in the NC Game and being #2 last year and what we know we have this year, things are just fine. I honestly believe we may field one the Top 5 Offenses in CFB history barring certain player injuries.

I don't mean to be sour grapes because I would love to see the same recruiting results for us. But, when you have this much talent on the same team, it requires some really serious coaching to keep everyone happy and keep them playing as a team. There is bound to be a lot of jealousy and competition for playing time. You can't discount team chemistry, something Dabo talks about all of the time.

Ehhhhhhh.........it ain't ALL about how many stars a player has. I don't care if a kid has 38 stars. He still needs to have the rest of his act together. Dabo has done plenty of heavy lifting to make sure that CLEMSON is known for its principles. That will pay it's own dividends in time. I wouldn't want it any other way. Baylor is the most recent example of the opposite end of the spectrum.

I guess it's better that Myers does it rather than that dingus down the road at Michigan.

Because the rankings are based on total points and they have more commits than just about everyone.
Average star value is a better metric.
Plus - usc has historically had a problem with signing people that didn't get in school.

if you'd look a little closer you would see that they have 15 commits so far in 2017 and we have 10 and we're still ahead of them. That should really tell you all you need to know.
