Or instead of creating more clueless bureaucrats they could just ask anyone who isn't a leftist POS what happens when you decide to stop prosecuting crimes. Most people by the age of 4-5 understand that negative reinforcement has a serious impact on human behavior and removing that makes it a free for all.

But, by all means, go ahead with your regional retail crime task force comprised of the same people who got them in their current predicament. But be prepared for the same leftist scum politicians who basically made theft legal in the state to block their every move. Being free to steal as much as you want without repercussion is a key plank in the Democrat party platform and they'll call anyone who happens to mention that fact a white supremacist for saying so.

is fund a series of non-profits to study the problem. The non-profits are run by their siblings, husbands, wives, etc. or run by their friends who hire their siblings, husbands, wives as highly paid 'consultants.'

So, money gets spent. The non-profit profiteers recycle the last report they wrote two years ago and spend time at the Epstein grooming ranch instead of working. Life is good!
