1. You can’t be questioning the play on the field
2. You go celebrate with your teammate when he scores
3. Show some respect and don’t yell at your coach
I’m really disappointed in what I saw, and I hope this is a learning experience that will make him a better teammate, leader, and overall person.

Seems Spiller has a history of spats with at least one other player of which may have cost us the UGA game. It wasn't a great look for Shipley but I'm not blindly throwing him under the bus without knowing all the circumstances.

Me thinks you’re making things up.
CJ is coaching and getting more out of his room than most any other group on the team.

And the player’s job is to listen and do it better next time
He had good blocking on the previous play and failed to score from the 2 yard line
Spiller is 100% right. This team needs to learn the killer instinct and punch the freaking ball in the endzone the first time. And is Shipley can’t do, next man up.
I for one loved seeing us get up under center and getting the #### yard

Acting like a 5 year that didn’t get his way. I don’t care if he was completely justified if he can’t manage his emotions any better than that he needs to sit.

I have a feeling Ship's episode last night might happen more often than we think. I think the NIL has a lot to do with that

I will say this - I don't think it's generally wise to try to isolate that as the primary problem in any particular instance. But as a more general matter, it doesn't at all stand to reason to assume that attitudes and postures of entitlement and arrogance WON'T be cultivated by NIL, combined with the general ethos of quasi-narcissistic self-absorption encouraged by advertising and social media.

Not the case with Shipley though, and one of the best players on our team is far from a “punk”.
Ms Krump does this crap everyday of her life. Just an instigator and troll. Krump won’t ban himself again though.

The age of coaching dictatorships and do-as-I-say-or-you-are-benched is over. The players have far more power now and respect is a two-way street. Coaches that don't recognize this are not going to survive.

I disagree on this. In any successful organization you have to have leaders and subordinates. In football the coach is the boss. Period. Can you imagine a military operation where the valuable soldiers thought they could just make their own rules? Or even in business, the workers dont tell their boss what they are going to do. It really doesnt matter what the situation was, he lost his temper on live TV with the guy that determines whether or not he gets to play. Not really a good look for a seasoned player thats supposed to be a leader.

Well, you might be right there. Beau Beau letting up 10 yards shy of a TD and stepping on his hot dog, Wiggins jumping into the stands after a big pick 6, Ship screaming at the coaches from the field and then blowing up on the sideline. Kinda hard to figure out who is in charge of this bunch of spoiled brats??

This team definitely does not show the tightness of past teams. A big win could certainly help restore some confidence and belief.

Yep have had to post a little less here recently. Too much drama for myself.
I would enjoy some X’s and O’s talk but coaching experience, the portal and the coaches belief in God as reasonings for not meeting expectations are 3 things that I’m learning to overlook. Craziness. We have missed on a few recruits and stupidity ensues.

I’ve only ever seen a highly competitive player who plays as hard or harder than anyone on the team. Where have you seen “hothead”?
It’s common to see kids express things to coaches from the field. Ship’s audio just happened to catch what he was expressing. Spiller was ticked at Ship’s effort to will that TD in, so he told him so and yanked him. CJ will pull a less-than-best effort, every time. Nothing wrong with that nor Ship’s on the field reaction.
Now, when he got to the sidelines and openly challenged his coaches decision, that’s where he was wrong and should have acted more responsibly as far as team.
So yeah, Dabo is handling that. No big deal really, but some of you guys looking for ways to demean Ship should be embarrassed of yourselves as Clemson men.
Sorry if that offends.

From what I have gathered Spiller was onto Ship for not hitting the hole hard enough on that goal line...but Spiller obviously had his eyes closed and missed Putnam and Tate getting blown up....per usual.

The blocking moved most of the DL backwards and some in the endzone.
Watch the play again. Ships effort literally faded a half yard from punching that in. Guaranteed he won’t lolligag next time he’s in that position.
Great coaching. The sideline antics from Will were uncalled for and non team like. He created distraction which could hurt us in a bigger game.
It’s over. Let’s go Tigers!
