How and why you chose your tnet name.
I will start first.
When I joined Tiger Net I wanted a moniker that had ties to Clemson since my wife and I graduated from Clemson. And she is a Big Tiger fan and likes Tiger FB, Baseball, Softball and Gymnastics. I tell her the only reason the men watch it is to see scantily clad young women.
So I decided that something to do with Tiger would be a good moniker and I wanted something unusual. Now when I was growing up, the phrase "Meaner than a Junk Yard Dog" was used to designate the meanest person in the neighborhood. A Tiger is mean, but I figured a really mean Tiger would be a "Junk Yard Tiger" cause I wanted the Tiger on the field of play to be the meanest Tiger in the Jungle. So "Junk Yard Tiger" it was.
One person asked me if I owned a junk yard. Another asked if my red neck yard looked like a junk yard. (I liked that one)
So now you know.

"Dan's duty", cleaning upperclassmen's dorm rooms and helping them move in, doing pushups, etc. At dinner time, upperclassmen would await freshmen leaving the dining hall at the Quad. When they yelled "Air raid" rats would fall down, kick their feet in the air, and pretend to shoot invisible airplanes from the sky. We did these stupid things to avoid going to Rat Court at the end of the fall semester. (Note: Coeds were exempt from this activity)

Two Knick names I had at Clemson. Fat Rat is what the kids called me while I coached little league football at the Y-Field. Bigun I got for being the center for our tackle football games on Bowman and Fike Fields. A mouthpiece was the only protection we wore.

When I entered Clemson in 1946 I had just turned 17 and looked much younger. Was given the nick name of “ Kid”. Hence “ Tiger kid”. Fortunately I have always,even to this day,looked younger than my age.

Wild blue has been around for a while as a favorite expression, from the Air Force song early on (grandpa was in the original Army Air Corps) to the whole 'wild blue' approach to what's next in life. Sticking the name to the end seemed to work for a handle.

I remember it like it was yesterday.
I had just dropped off Sue Ellen at the sanitarium. Meanwhile, my secretary Sly, who was instrumental in another set up of that loser Cliff Barnes, introduced me to one of her best friends from college. Knowing that Sue Ellen could no longer interfere in my philandering, I proceeded to take Sly’s friend to the Oil Barons Ball. My naïve brother Bobby got very angry at me that night, and said that he was ashamed of me….. said I embarrassed the family name.
I told ole Bobby that it was my name that brought prominence to not only Ewing Oil, but to Crump’s fledgling Tigernet website back in 1995. You see Crump agreed to help me break up Bobby and Pam in exchange for me helping him draw in more users …due primarily to my name, image and likeness being prominently displayed on Tigernet in the early days.
I don’t post nearly as much as I used to in those early days; now I primarily post to set the record straight about the infallibility of Clemson University. Like I always tell that natural born loser, Cliff Barnes, I was, and will always be the best that ever was.
Why then, would I not use my own name?

I incorporated initials and my grad year, but mine is also a salute to a sorority sister who was in a bad wreck. She returned to school in a wheelchair, but walked across the stage at graduation. A doctor or physical therapist told her she had the survival skills of a cat and she responded "A Clemson Tiger cat!"

It's what I did from July '68 to Aug '71 in the divided city as an intercept analyst with the 690th Electronic Security Group, 6912th Security Sqdn. Johnny Cash was in the 6912th as a Morse Code operator in the early '50s when it was a mobile unit based in West Germany. 1973 is my CU grad year. My HS classmates who preceded me graduated in '69, at least those who made it in four years.

Tiger Woods was just getting started and I heard some media person say that Tigermania was sweeping the golf world. I've always loved everything Clemson so I took that phrase, added a C, and voila Tigermaniac was created.

I was lazy about choosing my username, obviously. Never bothered to change it, and wouldn’t know how if I wanted to.

user name I could remember, depending, of course, on my survivability.
Hence, after pondering I decided a combination of my actual name would be best. That's because I reasoned if I ever got to the point of forgetting my name, maybe, just maybe, my user name would be a reminder! lol
