I'm telling You that a $ million GT donor friend dislikes RAD so much that he

Was so elated when Clemson hired him away, that he offered to join IPTAY since he felt RAD Had ruined GT sports over the years...IHO.
And, he disliked Paul Johnson even worse due to his offensive scheme that "could win 8-9 wins every year, but not a Natty". But, that 11 win season this year didn't change that personal view all that much.
What say You..about the jury being aware & alert of RAD's past (failures & successes at GT) and what he's done at Clemson so far.. Good & bad, IYO.

What was his crimes committed while at GT? Did he misuse money? Did he mistreat students or athletes?

He botched their football probation case a few years ago and got them penalized as I recall. I think he even admitted the same. I wish I knew the exact specifics but it was a gaffe on his part. I really though the AD should have been hired by the new Pres rather than Barker but he's ours now.

I wouldn't be surprised if DRad tries to take a conference commissioner position. His style is to market programs and improve facilities, not necessarily to hire the best coaches. Hopefully he makes a good call with the baseball coaching decision.

Well he'll have to get some UNC on his resume first.

Paul Johnson was not that bad of a hire, especially considering they are on probation until 2017. Brian Gregory has been a train wreck.

More show, than go. More of a 50,000 ft kinda big picture guy with perfect PC speech, than a boots on the ground personnel hiring and firing type. Hard to find someone who is good at both. This week should tell us more. I can't see CU as his last stop- seems more commissionerish to me.

D-Rad got them in NCAA trouble.

They got in trouble with the NCAA, D-Rad covered up and refused to cooperate and they got the hammer dropped on them for his doing so. The violations really weren't that bad, something like impermissible gifts to recruits.
I am really surprised we hired him.

Rad left Tech with a 224 million dollar debt. BoT must not have known the debt issues or the NCAA issues.

I think Barker got who he wanted even though he was about to leave the Presidency. YOu know Barker- amature AD who crafted the Bowden extension

be around all that long. I think he was hired to get the money and oversee this big building campaign and then I think he will be gone. Best Coach we got is Dabo and TDP saw that diamond in the rough.

Most annoying thing about D-Rad
Jun 4, 2015, 8:11 AM

Time will soon tell if he can make a good hire or not.
But, when he was at GT, I remember going to the games and complaining to my wife that Tech would advertise something barely football related on field between almost every play and at EVERY stoppage. Very distracting and very annoying to constantly having someone "honored" on field for doing nothing.
And now we have that at Clemson.

Things I dislike about D-Rad

He does not answer letters and does not take questions at P&G events. Seems gutless. And yes, I remember Ga. Tech being happy to get rid of him.

Quite frankly, I think & know we can do better than both of those guys!
I really like the new basketball play-by-play voice, Tony Castricone--he's a very descriptive pro. And, I think that Brad Fralick from WYFF would be GREAT!!
