12 team playoff

Does anyone really want to see a 12 team playoff? This was one of the most competitive and balanced years I can remember in college football and the mock 12 team playoff bracket looks boring. Here is the first round of games: Penn State vs. Ohio State Georgia vs Ole Miss Missouri vs Oregon FSU vs Liberty
Penn State, Oregon, Ole Miss, and Missouri have no business being there. And if Ohio State and Georgia wanted to be there they should have beat Michigan and Alabama. With a 12 team playoff why would anyone even watch conference championship week?
I know the ship has already sailed, but in my opinion it should be a 6 team playoff with each spot going to the power 5 and then 1 to the group of 5 champion. 1 and 2 get a bye and being ranked 3rd gets you matched up against the Group of 5 so strength of schedule and non conference games will still matter.
Its basically still a 12 team playoff, just the first round would have happened last saturday.

What would you change next year with no PAC 12? One at large bid? 3 byes?

Can't wait. When Clemson gets back into the playoff there is a better chance of matching up with schools we havent had the opportunity to play yet.
I think 12 is the right number but just my opinion.

There have been a lot of years under the current system when the 4th team was seemingly in a distant second (lower) class than the others.
12 is a lot, but I like that it at least allows for the inclusion of conference Champs. 8 might do the same.

With the parity that was shown this year, I’m not sure how you could still expect this to be boring. Just given the averages, you have to assume one or two of those are upsets in the making. It’s why you play the games.

Not according to the CFP. No upsets can occur. Thus if you are not assured of winning, you don't play.
What that bunch of crooked idiots did is criminal. No team sport of any kind has ever disqualified a team from being in a playoff game based on the team having an injured player. Only someone who monetizes cartoons and fantasies could have thought that chit up.

(if that is where we are with a PAC-2) conference champs are automatic "in" as well as some other teams with less than near-perfect records that may be peaking at the right time. Bring. It. On....

After the first round you have six winners
Those six play ..... three winner left to play.
Then what.?
Someone gets a by ... but who?

8 teams play first round. 4 winners.
4+4 = 8 8/2 = 4 4/2 = 2 2/1 = Natty

Personally, I feel like...who DOESN'T want a 12-team playoff???
- More intriguing matchups. - Not having to wait more than 5-10+ years to see good teams/programs schedule to play. - A potential CFP game at the Valley? YES.
Also, look no further than this year's BS with FSU. Right or wrong, they should've been in the playoff. NFL doesn't change seeding if someone loses a star player and they win their division - hate on NFL all ya want but they got that part right at least...win and you're in actually applies.
Granted, they still have time to fudge something up or move the goal posts but win your conference and you're in with a bye as a top seed.

Will still have disagreements between the bottom teams

I don't care how many teams you put in the playoff, there will always be disagreements over who got in, and who was left out. There will always be teams that feel they were done wrong.
