Maybe I am not a "fan" enough of Clemson, I don't know. But I do not understand the personal and petty attacks that people are STILL making at DJU. Was he a great QB, no? Personally, I think he is/was capable of being another Tajh Boyd given the right system...but back to the point.
Why the continued smears of him now that he is 2nd string? Why the sarcastic remarks about him if he is rated highly as a transfer? Why the continued need to try to tear the kid down?
DJU didn't work out here as a top QB, but he represented the school and team well in all areas. I, for one, HOPE he is the top portal recruit. I HOPE he transfers to another school where they can utilize his strengths. I HOPE he somehow has it all click and becomes an NFL QB.
And I also HOPE a lot of you "fans" will find a way to separate this "disappointing" season from a kid who gave all he had to Clemson.

a few minutes ago but there have been many negative comments from the ungrateful. Hope their kids are proud of their parents. (started to say " hope their kids have DJ's treatment on here but wouldn't wish that on any kid).

The one that pushed me to post, and I am not going to go find it, was the one about the portal rankings. Was it the worst "bashing" no, but basically making fun of Rivals for posting that he was #1. Just time for people to move on.

So rivals posted that he used to be #1 and was now in the portal… (factual i think) and someone made a joke of that?
Im confused. I have seen a bunch of goodbye and farewell posts… tons of lay off DJ posts and be classy clemson fans… but nothing i would consider a smear on DJ.
These are genuine questions. Im not being snarky. Sometimes its hard to tell in writing.

The Rivals post ranked DJ as the Number 1 player in the portal. Some fans took this as an opportunity to make a snarky comment about rivals and DJ.
Nothing I’d really consider a smear, but it’s been a lot of stuff you’d expect from high school girls and not grown adults.

I saw one last night that said don’t let the door hit you on the way out and have seen a couple today that were in poor taste but the vast majority have been well wishing. When you get this many people together there will always be a few that make you shake your head. I think these are the vocal minority Dabo was referring to and the same folks he was talking about at the beginning of the season when he said some folks were rooting for DJ to fail. I don’t think there were a lot, thank goodness, but I do think they exist.

I agree with Rhett, that there has not been a wholesale bashing of DJ. There will always be a few who make posts in poor taste, but they are vastly in the minority. Being critical of his play comes with the territory, but that is not bashing. Wanting Cade to start ahead of him is not bashing. I think it is widely appreciated what DJ has done for Clemson and the football team and I personally hope he knocks it out of the park at his next stop.

Criticizing DJ's play on the field isn't smearing him. I don't know DJ personally so I won't comment on his character. But he was not the amazing QB talent we all were told to expect. That's not a smear, that's factual based on what we've seen from his play.

no flame.... that is the right take... he gave his all to this program and was a class act... cannot say that about alot of followers here...
On the football side, he had his limits and they were glaring at times. Saying that without using slurs is not wrong or petty.
Wish him all the best, hope he gets and/or accepts the right coaching because the raw talent is there... he's not anywhere close to his potential.

Questioning needs to be directed toward the coaching staff, not DJU. He probably tried his best but just isn't the QB he was rated to be. We MISSED on him, period. Wish DJU the best outcome in the future. We didn't do right by Klubnick as he should have gotten so much more playing time (good or bad) this season. Our revered coaching staff seems to have blown a great opportunity this season and is doing nothing but trying to dodge the issue. Sometimes issues arise that change your perception of people. Just saying...

are 11-2 and ACC CONFERENCE Champs. I don't call that a disappointing season. We had two disappointing losses but they do not define the season.

Not a popular position I don’t feel but seeing we can’t win a national championship every year I’m with you. 11-2 and a ACC championship is pretty darn good. I remember just hoping to make an ACC championship.
