Putnam is here. He is asked how he views the OL performance so far...He says it's tough losing Walker Parks, and Parks is sorely missed. They've had to overcome that. And now they are plugging in different guys and figuring out what works.

Putnam says Harris Sewell played really well as a true freshman, really wants to win for his teammates. Plays through the whistle. He says Sewell "has an exponential curve to him" and "Harris is ahead of me" as a freshman.

Cade says the Tigers will practice Mon-Wed-Thur - they want to get better. And then they will have some time off and he wants to take advantage of it and reset and just get away from football for a bit.

On the fumble Sat., Cade said he read the DE crashing, which means he needs to pull it. But Wake had a LB scraper (LB looping to where the DE should be) and he tried to give it too late. Said Wake did it four times.

what the counter is so it doesn't happen again - will go back an try to find those other 3 on film to see what we did - maybe we adjusted as that was pretty early so the other 3 times were probably after

Dee Crayton - Wes said he picks things up fast, understands football and run fits and how the coverage aspect fits together. He said Crayton knows how to QB the defense and be loud and vocal and get guys lined up

On the red zone issues, he wants 66.7 percent TD percentage (at 58 right now). He says they need to try and continue to improve on that.

Not sure about the blocking comment. I would approve the idea of playing Jake at boundary receiver instead of Randall or Greene. Maybe platoon at boundary with Williams or Brown. Let one of the other TE’s take more snaps along the Oline.

Not sure about the blocking...I'd be in favor of giving Ennis more snaps because the offense seems to run better when he's in there.

Garrett Riley with a telling statement - I ask him why the offense looks different than what he had at TCU, and he mentions personnel. Says they are what they are right now, but cutting mistakes and starting faster would allow them to "unhook the plow" a little bit.

I take it from that comment that he needs to get the talent that fits best with the offense he wants to run. I think we've got some guys coming in next year in the skill positions who can potentially give us a lift early on, if given the chance. Unfortunately, the OL is still going to be challenging but the guys coming back will at least have another year of experience under their belts and hopefully, we will see some year over year improvement. Same for Cade. He will be much better next year after getting through this year and learning from his mistakes.

I would love to see comments from our place-kicking coach…
I would guess the kicking coach would say, "If the offense would score Touch Downs then you wouldn't be asking me these question! My guys sneak off during practice and eat taco's and burgers. We kick a few balls around and then someone expects us to actually perform live when all we do is practice in the shadows! Geez!"
