for Clemson Women's Basketball and the program, just so hard for the program to win games and it is so frustrating to say the least. They have now gone from being 11-4 this season to currently 13-12 and I know they still have 5 games left in the regular season and they can turn things around and have a winning record and make at least the WNIT but none of those 5 games Clemson is gonna be favored in so with that said there is a strong possibility if things don't get better and real fast we could be looking at 17 of the last 18 years(4 head coaches) since Jim Davis was let go that the program has had a losing record.Something has got to give with that program so hopefully Graham Neff sees it that way and will do what's best for the program if not this season then in the very very near future if things don't ever get better.

It did not used to be that way though when Annie Tribble and Jim Davis were the head coaches. The program was really really good under those 2.

Amanda Butler's first season was 2018-19,5 years which really and truly is plenty of time to build a program. If you can't produce a winning program in that length of time then you'll never do it,plain and simple as that.

Gone thru 4 head coaches now since Jim Davis and only 1 winning record in 17 seasons have come from those 4.Jim Davis coached for 18 seasons and only had 2 losing records in that time span.

Do we need to get a new lake? Water not fast enough? Hate blowing hard earned IPTAY funding into a black hole
Don’t worry field hockey and gymnastics to the rescue that nobody but parents care about. ?

When you fire a coach with a willing record, it can go in either direction. Often changing the coach, especially a proven winner will not work out like you think.

Yes very frustrating. I like this team. They play with a lot of heart, but unfortunately not enough talent to compete in the best WBB conference in the country. Butler is a good coach but apparently a horrible recruiter. My best suggestion to Neff, get Coach Davis to somehow convince former alums Erin Baath (AC @ Michigan} or Nikki Blassingame West (AC @ NCSU} to come back . Might be a tough sell. We appear to be where HCs go to die now. The only advantage is with the portal now, a good recruiter can turn a program around fairly quickly.

Sad to see what Annie Tribble and Jim Davis both built at Clemson in the earlier years of the program be pretty much destroyed by 4 bad coaching hires from Terry Don Phillips and Dan Radakovich

that they do not give a rats rump about wimminz hoops.
Jim Davis was fired at the end of the 2004/05 season. Since then, Clemson has hired and fired four different coaches (Christy McKinney - 5 seasons, Itoro Coleman - 3 seasons, Audra Smith - 5 seasons, and now Amanda Butler - Currently in her 5th season), and frankly, most of them should have never been hired in the first place. Rather than finding the best person available, Clemson went the budget route. They set a salary range, and then tried to find someone who would take the job for the salary Clemson was willing to pay. McKinney and Coleman never had a winning season. Audra Smith and Amanda Butler had just one. That's just two winning seasons in the last 17 years. After Davis was fired, Holly Warlick, who was an assistant at Tennessee at the time, wanted the job but Clemson would not budge on her salary requirements, so they hired Christy McKinney instead. Warlick ended-up replacing Pat Summitt at Tennessee and over a seven year period, made seven appearances in the NCAA Tournament, advancing to the Elite Eight three times. Eighteen years later, here we are, floundering in mediocrity and struggling to finish the season with a winning record.
