Montgomery threw 110 pitches over 8.0 innings. Gossett threw 108 pitches over 6.1 innings.
Don't really see the difference.

Shhhh. Don't try to reason with poor sports.. Some of us understand Baseball. Hate losing to coots but we have the same issues here. Guess we pitched Pohle too much during preseason.

bad thing is that Montomery and his family are big Clemson fans. We could have had him if we offered. Same for Matt Price, Wingo and many other instate guys. It's a shame we don't do better with in state recruiting.

Clemson is being careful with Matthew Crownover as he rehabs from "Tommy John" surgery. It's been right at a year since he had his surgery, and the way he's recovered is a credit to him, the Clemson coaches and medical staff. He's a special pitcher and I'd hate to blow out his arm before he gets started good.

This made me laugh. He had to have surgery? Apparently someone didn't take care of his arm the first time.

Apparently you aren't aware that Matthew Crownover is a FRESHMAN that had "Tommy John" surgery a year ago, as a senior in HS. As he said at the time, there are two kinds of pitchers, those that have had the surgery and those that will. OK, maybe he was over-stating it just a little, but he's done really well with his rehab to this point.

As opposed to Nolan Belcher? He's pitching pretty good nowadays. He had a few years of rest and light pitching after his Tommy John.

It's easy to tell. Look at the weight gain, for one. The "roid rage" symptoms for another. Also, PED testing is random and is left up to the schools how to administer the tests. WE ALL KNOW USuC won't turn a blind eye to rule breaking!!!

Good Lord at the number of pathetic Gamecock fans over here.
Are you losers really that obsessed with Clemson?
You know what you will not find in my net history a GD Gamecock site. That is the difference between the two fan bases. One is a little brother constantly following big brother around obsessing over everything he does, and one doesnt really give a crap about the other.

As to why we "Coots" come over here, sometimes a little fact-checking isn't a bad thing. For instance, would somebody, anybody, show us a report indicating that Montgomery had any kind of an arm issue before last Friday's game? Because, absent that little fact, the premise of this thread pretty much falls apart at the seams.

I like that. Trailer trash. We probably ought to avoid such generalizations. Do I express myself like trailer trash? Can't you discern from my user name that I have some higher education? I've been called lots of things in my life (including, by the way "tater" on the FGF), but I've never before been called "trailer trash." I guess there's a first time for everything. I'll just consider the source.

appreciate your concern about the health of their baseball players.
Of course, their health is your BIG, BIG concern and not that Montgomery pitch 8 shutout innings against the Tigers, right"
Facts are that Montgomery's problem was not a problem before his outings and don't look now but Clemson's starter threw only 2 less pitches in 6 innings yet the "uncaring" Clemson staff left him in????
Bitter much.
