The whole key to this system working is for NIL Go (the Clearinghouse) to snuff out bogus NIL deals from boosters (Collectives) that are in reality just Pay-For-Play. Those offenders need to be stopped and punished severely or the "Cap" that is Rev Share amount is meaningless.

I believe that handled professionally something like the NFL this can work for college athletics and work for the best for everyone concerned.
With college I hope to see it work with recruits choosing what HC they would rather play for!!!

Excellent point. Hopefully more clarity as we go along. I know lacrosse was mentioned as was baseball. Obviously football is the 105? And Obviously bball will be generously taken care of... but at some point, will a complete scholarship breakdown be available?
Say, for instance, softball, golf, and tennis. And does this mean we'll have 100 more than uscjr, but 50 less than Texas. Lots of questions.
Wonder if Dabo will say what he really thinks. Guess I'm still confused on how much this helps us vs uga, lswho etc.

I don’t think Neff clarified beyond the 150 new scholarships. So we don’t know how they will be allocated. I know the SEC as an entire conference planned to cap football scholarships at 85 for this year. That makes sense since NIL front loading was planned for this season heading towards the July 1st date.

I fear that lawsuits will be abundant and endless.
I'm no lawyer, but there are several things I have heard attornies on sports talk programs who are versed in contract law, some of whom are licensed agents by the NFL or NBA and have clients in those sports.
Here are just a few questions I have heard will be raised. (Please, understand, I am not saying I agree with these questions. I'm an grumpy old man who does not like the direction college sports has been heading for the past 50 years that has gotten us to this point. I'm just saying these are issues that I have heard will be raised.)
1. The athletes are still not considered employees. I'm not sure what the legal status would be (independent contractors? consultants? ???). But, what restrictions can be placed in a contract on a person who is not an employee?
2. How can Deloitte determine "fair market value"? How can Deloitte say that State Farm can't pay Arch Manning as much as they pay Patrick Mahomes if they want to? How can Deloitte say a local car dealer can't pay an 18 year old kid $50,000 for standing next to his car for a local commercial? Then, how can a college (or any governing agency of that collge) say that student can't play football for the collge? The college, nor the governing agency had anything to do with a private contract between a student and a third party?
3. What is to keep a booster "hiring a football player" and signing him to 365 one-day contracts for $599? Those contracts would not need to be reported to Deloitte. (365*599 = 218,635). Heck, if 5 boosters did that the kid would be making over 1 million bucks a year.
My point is, this system would work if everyone agreed to abide by the spirit of the settlement. But, we all know that is not gonna happen. People will always be looking for either loopholes or just ways to chear without getting caught.

Thank you Bret. You summed up my concerns much better than I did/could. I guess these are the things I was asking for clarity on.
So, while what Neff said definitely sounds great, but is it really? Will this help Clemson, or FSU, or any said team. Short of any strict definitive parameters for every team nothing changes.
Imo, the only solution I see is adopting the NFL model.
