Alabama Mood vs Clemson Mood Scares Me
Dec 30, 2017, 10:19 AM

Alabama seems to be focused. They have a chip om their shoulder. I am worried our team is a little too loose. Maybe that is Dabo intentiom for such a young team?? Has anyone sensed the same thing?

games where the opposing team had revenge as a motivator. Such as the Coots, and specifically their center who apparently exacted revenge against us in some way this year.

Pucker up buttercup .
If the 6 teams I mentioned were all very vocal about right the wrongs from the last time they played Clemson,THEY WERE ALL REVENGE GAMES. Judging by your pulse, comprehension is not your strong suit.

But not today, and not with Dabo.
I remember watching the teams on TV back when we played WVA under Bowden in some bowl game. We were all smiles, joking, relaxed, and WVA was all business. They destroyed us in that game. And it was obvious before the game started.
But we were relaxed going into the Miami game, the USC game, the Auburn game, etc. And we play WAY up for our opponents, and Bama will be no exception. I honestly think Bama is going to be shell shocked in this game. The margin of victory in this game will be 10-14 points or more. Not a close game, and it won't be for whoever wins. It will not be a last second TD pass, and it won't be a game that comes down to who has the ball last. One team will be in form control from start to end. I'm hoping that we're on top here. But whoever is will be on top big time.

You have to cater to your teams personality, this group loves to play and have fun. Also, i hope they have a chip on their shoulder. As soon as they start playing for themselves to make the big hit in renfrow, to jump a route etc. game over

i think a lot of people confuse emotion and intensity. didn't agree with a lot of what ken hatfield did, but he summed it up very well when asked about why his teams didn't look emotional- "i don't want emotion, i want intensity. emotion wears off, intensity doesn't." just my opinion, but i think you can be "loose" and still be intense. you get too "emotional" and that's when you get tight.

IMO the mood before Syracuse was all talk about the bye week. Sure enough the boys had checked out.
Being pissy all day even when you are not at practice does not make you play better.
You cannot play the game before it happen she emotionally. It wears you out mentally. The boys know they are in for a dog fight.

If we force some miscues in the first quarter, they could fall apart.
See Clemson vs FSU in 2013. Clemson was laser focused and wound tight. The Seminoles were loosey goosey. Disaster for us.
There are no guarantees. Bama is a great team and I think the outcome is a toss up as of now. I'll still take loose and confident over tight and focused.

Bama will come out full of pi$$ and vinegar. If can withstand their early onslaught, and finish the quarter with the lead or tied, Bama will be in for a long night.

I think it comes down to the team's chemistry and culture. With Dabo, the fun is in the winning. They know how to have fun but also win big games. He freaking dances with the players!! With Saban, you never see that. You see a more stoic, stern approach. All that being said, it's just the difference in program brands. Both know how to handle the business - they just approach it differently.

We have fun when we play football. We will be focused when we get on the field. Nothing to worry about. They way Bama is if we get an early lead they will crumble. If they get one on us we will just keep coming.

So you think the pressure is all on Bama?
Dec 30, 2017, 10:52 AM

Saban has his kids under the delusion that they were better than Clemson last year. ESPiN says he's the best coach so his coaching couldn't be the reason they lost to Clemson. He's not going to admit that Dabo out recruited him and our team was just better than Bama's.
That only leaves one reason that they lost. They just didn't do their jobs. I don't buy that chit and anyone who does is a fool who is blinded by the fools on ESPiN and that old cranky sob that runs Bama's program.
Saban talks about rat poison making his boys sick but he's been poisoned by the media too. The media has fallen before Saban's throne and praised his glory until the stupid old turn believe it.
I saw a Bama team which was highly talented play their best and get beaten. I saw a good coach develop and train that team as well as he could and call a plays that would have beaten any team except Clemson. Not one of them said they just got beat or give any credit to Clemson, not lately anyway. All they want to talk about is why they didn't win.
Saban has twisted the screws on his boys. That's good until they fail to stop Clemson or fail to score against our defense. Saban won't have to twist the screws, the boys will twist their own.
