Paul Finebaum missed his calling as a politician. At the end of May he claimed that Clemson and FSU didn't bring any value to the SEC table. Yesterday he is saying that "there no better fits in the world" than Clemson and FSU to the SEC.

Just shows to go ya what a loon this chrome dome really is. You are correct about one thing. He would fit in perfectly with the D.C. crowd and would say whatever his betters tell him on a given day. What a macaroon that guy is!

parrots whatever the SEC company line is. So, since he has changed his tune, I must deduce that the SEC, although they are mum publicly, have begun machinations behind the scenes to not let the BIG into SEC country by snagging Clemson and FSU.
Say what you will, the SEC has enough of a Superiority Complex that they are not going to be upstaged by the BIG or anybody else. And, regardless of some of our distaste for that league because of said Superiority Complex, Clemson in the SEC makes WAY more sense than Clemson in any other conference. (The ACC is done, as is the PAC-12/9/6/4)
Travel times and distances are going to increase no matter WHAT new conference we join, but the SEC makes more sense travel wise than the BIG. It just does. And, Clemson already has some rivalries established with SEC schools. I would LOVE to see us resume the annual series with Georgia. Even though, they had the better of it for a very long time. At least, when you beat them, you figured you had accomplished something worthwhile, unlike beating our in-state rival, who rarely brings any value to the table.

I agree, we travel to most every away game against a SEC foe. Outside of Death Valley Kyle field is my favorite place to see a game. In 2018 we spent the week in and around College Station. The A&M fans are a lot lime Clemson fans. I didnt run into a rude fan the whole time. In the 5 days we were there I only paid for 2 meals and was bought drinks every time we went to a bar. Plus they hate Usuk fans because of the way they are treated at Willy brice

I agree about Texas A&M and Kyle Field. The Army stationed me there for 3 years, and dearly loved that time of my career. Plus it was a military school then and Clemson was for me.

SEC/ESPN are one and the same. He got his marching orders. Kind of surprised that people are surprised by this obvious fact.
