you could take that budget, cut it in half, distribute it to the states, and actually help education

This will hurt families in poor red states the most

When the partisan curriculum wars begin, States like California and New York will put people into the modern workforce, while the derp states will be sending people to fix the machines.. And of course, this will completely F over families who have special needs, children, they get funding from the federal government via the Department of Education.. And fo course, the price of a Public University education will increase dramatically, Let's all celebrate together!

by ridiculous numbers over the last 3 decades. Not the smartest argument you could've made there. Just an excuse to blame the rising costs that have already happened on this administration. It's simple psychology.

That little comment about people who will fix the machines tells you a lot about that guy. Many on the left stick their noses in the clouds and consider blue collar workers inferior. Another reason they just got hammered in an election!

Yeah, not sure what he was getting at there. I fix “machines” and robots for a living. Definitely a good trade/skill to know and it more than pays the bills.

Nah man your skills are of no use to society. What we need is more professors teaching gender studies classes.

And the federal government taking over student loans has had a big part of the increases in the last 15 years

Our world education ranking has gone straight down hill since Carter created the Dept of Education

The numbers don't lie

Only left wing kooks would have the complete lack of awareness it takes to come on here and claim the US education system is better off flushing the Dept of Educations 260 BILLION budget down the drain of DC bureaucrats than it would be if most of that cash was returned to the states to spend on things that actually help educate kids, like teachers and schools. You know how many schools just one billion would build? Yet they reflexively defend it all just vanishing down the DC sewers because they know that 95% of their beloved bureaucrats who are getting paid to educate nobody are their fellow kook leftists.

this is detrimental to the progress our education system

has made over the past 3-4 decades.

We have seen substantial YoY improvements in test scores, attendance, college placement rates, and literacy rates across all demographics when charted against a $ / student metric.

We need more administrators to craft better syllabi, and we need properly educated administrators in Washington to manage those administrators.

More $ / student, more investment, is clearly the pathway to continual improved competency, intellectual capacity, and critical thinking benchmarks this country needs to compete at the global level.

Unbelieveable.
