I dunno about Augusta National being the 'best' golf course in the country, but definitely one of the best.
As far as local courses go, just up the road from Augusta National is Sage Valley, apparently built to rival Augusta National and from what I've heard from those who've played there, it does.
The story is that the guy who built it is a local self-made multi-millionaire whose company built all the Wal-mart stores back in the day. He wanted to join Augusta National but they wouldn't extend an invitation to him (apparently because he was a 'good ol boy' who got where he was through hard work), so he built his own rival course just up the road. Sage Valley is just as nice and actually more peaceful, without all the noise Augusta National has coming in off Washington Road.

I've had the pleasure of playing Sage a few times. Its a great track but I will be honest. The course does not WOW you. The amenities and the men's locker room are world class though.

Pirates Treasure putt putt course in Myrtle Beach, and I gotta say it’s pretty sweet. And the men’s bathroom is exsquisite.

Glad you got them sold. I went a few years back on Sunday and it was awesome! Have a great time.
Not sure if you are from Augusta area, but if not T Bonz is a really good place to eat.. I am from Augusta and it is one of my faves.

That’s funny. I was at Jack’s last round when his grandson was caddying for him. He hit a driver off the fairway further and straighter than my best tee shot in my life. Craziest thing I ever saw on a course.

My great aunt lives in a neighborhood behind Augusta National. A modest neighborhood you'd see in most towns. Her husband, my great uncle, passed away on Augusta National back in the 90's. He often caddied a couple times a week after retiring and died of a heart attack on the course.
