As we all know, if the kicking team recovers an onside kick, they are automatically awarded 9 points and the game clock is run down to zero. Without that call, we would've lost on the spot.

it would be something about sarcastically saying that an onsides kick is worth 8 or 9 points, thereby making the point that a win wasn't guaranteed if they did recover it.
don't think I've seen this expressed elsewhere, so hope you guys enjoy this original idea.
