Dabo does! Ian might find a better fit in football vs a pro bball career. Dude is pretty athletic when healthy as he is a rebounding freak even over taller players.

With those tree trunks for legs I can easily see him moving a pile on 2nd & goal from the 2 with a little H-Back handoff/toss. Lawd help the Will or FS trying to stop him

I don't think the skill of boxing out a PF translates to being able to do much against someone with the athletic ability & physical traits of LBs and FS in todays game.
Per google he is 6'8 240. Doubt he'd be able to get much leverage or have the mass to hold someone down.

I'm pretty sure Terrell McIntyre had our only respectable free throw % in that era.

Schieff doesn't like to play sports outdoors - that's why he chose Basketball! Smart - pick the one that is played in a climate-controlled environment.

I would like to see a couple of TE's 6'10" to 6'11" in short goal line for jump ball pass situations. Guys like this with strong arms and hands a DB doesn't stand a chance.

Dude has a rebuttal for everything. How tall is too tall? How long should a man’s pants be? Abe Lincoln had thoughts on that. Pants should be long enough to touch the bottom of his shoe.
Tall people can’t run? See Trevor Lawrence. Y’all people can’t be receivers? See Randy Moss. Harold Carmichael. Current tight ends over 6’7” in the NFL would disagree also. Darnell Washington. Donald Parham. Curtis Hodges. The list goes on. Former tight ends don’t agree either.

Having played almost every sport available I can definitively say basketball is the hardest on the body. I have broken almost every finger on both hands, kept a sore back and sore knee from playing basketball. I only injured my knee once playing basketball. Playing baseball I had two operations from injuries. Bankhart procedure on my right shoulder and right knee medial meniscus repair. Both after school playing days. It’s crazy football was the easiest on my body. And I played iron man football. Never came off the field in HS.

A good question. TE is reportedly one of the toughest positions to learn so if he has never played football, I doubt he could pick it up quickly enough to make an impact. Having said that, I would enjoy seeing how it played out if he decided to give it a shot.

He played football through 10th or 11th grade but wanted to focus on b-ball.
That being said, if the Chargers think DJU can play tight end, I have no doubt that Ian would be able to learn the fine points.

Tiger Illustrated reporting this morning that this football thing is a real possibility. They actually have a quote from Dabo in the past saying that he’d provide a chunk of rev share. I love Ian, but personally I think rev share to a transfer punter would be a better investment in the team. I can’t imagine Schieff getting into a game other than some special package at the goalline.
