Pool play blows

Are there any coaches, players or AD's that like pool play? This is an awful way to determine a champion. Are we the only baseball tourney in Anerica with this format? Stupid!

The ACC coaches wanted pool play. Saves pitching. And fyi - it only sucks if you have a bad season.

Pool play is sort of like having your teeth pulled under anesthesia ...then waking up and discovering that the wrong teeth were extracted. In other words , it sucks and then it also sucks.

We should have beat FSU they had 3 hits and 2 errors and won. Crownover pitched a gem and lost, about the way the whole season has gone. Really Jacks whole career has been close but no cigar.

If we won that game we would be locked in to the title game without even having to play today

the AD's and the conference wanted it, so they got it. Deal with it. Stop your whining, put your big boy pants on and go win the games.

that the last pool play was to be last year or the year before. The coaches voted to discontinue pool play...but the ACC went back on their word

We weren't winning in double elimination format either. All things being equal, we would be in losers bracket with crown and Erwin spent. Our midweek guys gonna carry us thru 4/5 more acc games????

Would you prefer a single elimination tournament?

If so, our season would have ended after losing to FSU with zero chance to improve our NCAA resume.

For as long as I can recall, baseball tournaments have been double elimination. I have never experienced a single elimination baseball tournament.

no...should be dbl elimination to make each game worth something. If you have to depend on building your rpi and on other teams winning or losing in other conferences to get to a regional then you made your own bed and have to sleep in it.
Lot of other years single elimination would have killed us

a team that won it's first game had a tremendous advantage over a team losing its first game. At least in pool play, everything is more equal. You go 2-1, you have a chance of getting in the championship game. You know you are going to have to play four games and that it.
