Based off of MY evaluation he is very quick off the ball and has what looks like an arsenal of moves that he uses to get around his blocker. He likes to use his big build to his advantage and basically plays bully ball. His best games outside of purdues lone win against Indiana State was against MSU, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Ohio state. (That’s not based off of just stats that’s based off of stats against the stronger opponents.) According to the TNET article the scouts say his ceiling isn’t much higher but I think the opposite since he’s only a sophomore and will be coming in as a junior and I think he would be a much valued addition to what’s already a strong pass rush.

To state the painfully obvious, we should do our best to get him because he is currently probably better than anyone on our DE group not named TJ Parker.
Barring injury or sickness, he’s highly likely to win a starting position at DE.
Having two top shelf DEs on the field at the same time has a force-multiplier effect. In the case with only one top shelf DE, the offense can double team block him with an OT + RB. When there are two top shelf DEs, then one of those DEs will be single blocked.
If the team also has a top shelf DT u it, then the probability for the DEs to rack up gaudy stats increases further. Interior push from the DTs creates the havoc that makes the DEs magnifies abilities to make big plays.
Heldt has all fog the above factors working for him if he chooses Clemson.

That's exactly right. The opposing OL will single out the most dangerous guy and double team. With Woods on the inside pushing the pocket, this leaves the other DE singled up and he can then be a problem. Even chipping with a RB or tight end, if you have 2 DE's, Parker being very good (getting to elite) and another bookend guy that is good, the opposing offense will be trying all game to figure out who to block, thus resulting in the DL imposing their will. If this guy is good, which sounds like he may be, it would make for a nice combination up front while a younger guy like Lawson refines his craft and plays in rotation opposite of Parker.

Not only putting another capable pass rusher on the field helps Parker, it would help Woods. I think we have 3 sacks from ends not name Parker. 3 as a group from Lawson, Hoffler, and Denhoff. Heldt has 5 this season. If he could get 7 next season that’s a huge boost. That also helps out the interior line.

Kudos to the OP. Throw in that this young man is just a sophomore. He’s just scratching the surface.
