Another Tiger site reported we were pursuing him as LB. Out of high school we recruited him as an edge.

I think once Sammy has gone through the spring & summer practices, size won't be an issue in the middle.
Whoever the next DC is, I think they're going to like what they see in that LB room

Both and place him where he excels.
It's extremely likely Alabama is so blessed with talent they've not yet scratched the surface of what skills he possesses.
I'm hoping our DC ( yet to be announced ) has a history of coaching LBers and edge guys and put a bug in Dabo's ear that he Alexander is a " get ".

My guess is if we go 4-3, then he'll be the third LB especially since it looks like our DE starters will be Parker and Heldt (with Lawson and Denhoff in the 2-deep). However, I think our new DC SHOULD identify where his skillset fits in the scheme they are looking to deploy and play him there. Alternatively, he may end up being like Simmons where he lined up in multiple positions based on scheme/personnel which will be sweet.

I would use him as a hybrid DE/OLB, have him in on designed blitz packages and let go after the QB and just be active around the line of scrimmage. Either a 5th rusher in a 4 man front or hovering around the line in a 3 man front.

getting gobbled up by in that Texas game. Hopefully adding Heldt will shore up the weak side and we can set an edge finally.

I think it will depend on who is DC.
He seems like a pretty good choice for weakside OLB in a 3-4 or inside backer in the 4-3.
Parker could certainly play Strongside OLB in a 3-4 if we were to go that route.
