500 acres in tryon nc. I imagine some houses were there but not positive.

I live in Tryon and it got within about 2000' of our house, but then by the grace of God, the wind shifted and it headed back towards the wooded mountain. The Saluda FD reported no structures lost at 10:00 PM last night. When we retired 5 years ago, we moved out of the Low Country to get away from the hurricanes and now we have floods and fires.

Riding back up 85 after the game and it was really smokey. Seen later it was showing up on the weather radars. I had no idea at the time what was happening.

I told my wife back in December as we were riding through the parkway from Cherokee to Pigeon Forge that with whole sides of the mountain having their trees uprooted, as they dry out, the mountains are basically going to become a massive pile of kenneling.

And I’d imagine that will be true for multiple areas in North and South Carolina.
