Wiggins a ghost?

6

Dec 14, 2024, 2:08 PM

Is Chauncey Wiggins a ghost? He seems to just disappear in these games. The guy is athletic and 6'10, he had 1 assist, 0 boards, 0 points....like he wasn't even there. We can't win without him contributing something. And yes, if chase hunter throws another no look pass, he needs to sit for a little while, regardless of the game

Chauncey's play is one of main reasons they lost. He has got to be better than that...

More of a liability than a ghost in this game with his missed shots and turnovers.

He didn't get many minutes today.

Memphis had a 3 guard lineup, Brownell chose to go with Dillon instead. Dillon made the most of those minutes, imo.

Clemson is at it's best when those 3 guards play. Probably the best 3 guard lineup in the ACC.

Brownell put him in a few times and quickly had to get him out. He made several big mistakes today. If he had played better, we would have won. Of course it wasn't just him.

Wiggins is not very good….6’11” and tall and long but is mostly a liability out there…..definitely should not be a starter!

He is the most athletic basketball player we have imo. He has shown he can be great.

He plays timid and scared and has low IQ….

Hes never learned any post moves, being 6-11 he should be

Dec 15, 2024, 9:06 AM [ in reply to Re: Wiggins a ghost? ]

Feasting on people down low in college. If he developed any of that AND continued with his outside shooting he’d be an NBA prospect. But the fact that he’s never developed an understanding of the post game is just sickening. 6-11 player with athleticism should average 9 rebs, 2 blocks, 12 pts at min.

Yea I agree. He has the ability and size to be our best player.

I told a friend of mine last night during the second half that poor Chauncey has disappeared twice this year and we lose both games. He just seems to be in a daze. Even if he only scored 6-10 points and had a couple of rebounds maybe........but that is 2 games now that he totally disappeared.

I'd like to add that Chauncey has a world of potential. I think most of his issues are mental

Second coming of Milton Jennings

Highly rated signee that disappeared once he got to Clemson. He is the type of player that could really help the team, but he is extremely weak physically (and maybe mentally). He’s a liability on both offense and defense…

He’s not allowed to make mistakes…… BB pulls him every time he makes a mistake and it’s wearing on his confidence…..anybody with a brain can see it. Meanwhile the two Hunter boys can throw the ball all over the court and nothing.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He got pulled yesterday only bc he made 3 mistakes in a row

Dec 15, 2024, 10:08 AM

I’d have pulled him too.

Soda85, there is a lot of truth to your comment. The Hunters are goofy turnovers looking for places to happen yet they get their minutes. Not so for some of the others on the team.

Yep..and we need someone who can hit open 3's. We need that deadly shooter. Thats kind of our weak link to an extent imo.

Re: Wiggins a ghost?

He can hit the big shots, but was really off today. Unsure how we remedy this, but it lies with Foster, the younger Hunter and Jones. We have the talent. Wiggins just makes us that much better.

Let me also say that we can only replace his presence if Jones and Foster get playing time.

Chauncey has elite qualities, but his 6’11” size is deceiving.

The way Mrs Ha-Wiggins is being used this year, he’s in the portal come March or whenever it is.

This is why RJ left 4 UGA according to inside sources at UGA. CBB fickle decision making on PT, favorites who can do no wrong and others who can’t make a single mistake.

He’s got to earn it. Launching air balls repeatedly will not increase minutes. He’s got the talent.

Re: Wiggins a ghost?

Foster gets one minute to either get a rebound, miss a shot, or get a foul and then he is pulled. The only way he is going to get more minutes is to come in and get a basket and then will get additional minute(s) because of that like the Kentucky game. Kind a lot of pressure for a player to produce immediately off the bench.
Heidbreder can come in screw up on a couple of missed shots, fouls, and not blocking out and will at least get a few minutes.

Chauncey plays scared and timid. He needs to man up or sit.
