Why would Saban leave Bama for Texas?

I just don't see it. Bama is the best team in the best conference. And they will match Texas dollar for dollar. Plus I don't think Saban wants to split headlines with Jerry Jones. In Alabama Saban is king, the Tide are it. In Texas the Longhorns are always second to the Cowboys.

All that to say, Texas will want a proven HC. I would be mildly surprised if they went after CM.

No chance UT hires CM for HC. See what I did there? Seriously though, living around so many Longhorns, they will hire a proven commodity. We should be more worried they hire someone that designates CM for OC. They will be able to pay and pay more. As an A&M guy and already an OC may be enough to keep him here

Same reason he took the Bama job. To return a once proud program back to championship form. Bama was a train wreck and hadn't won anything since Dabo was a player. Texas has (10X) the resources of Bama. Texas has the best instate talent in the country and most grow up wanting to play for Texas. Money will not be the reason he has enough already.

Didn't he also say he wouldn't be the next coach at Alabama?

He has done all he can do at Alabama...anything less than a NC is a disappointment. Texas is a challenge, but very doable. He could build a NC team in a couple years and become the only coach in history to win a NC at three different schools.

It maybe that the Longhorns are second to the Cowboys,but
as long as Jerry continues his downward spiral toward mediocrity with a Cowboy team that hasn't won a playoff game in a decade,Sabin could make Texas relevant again!
One thing is certain,however,even Sabin is smart enough not to coach at Dallas.
