Why the Georgia loss hurts so much worse

The last several years we as fans along with the country has watched Clemson blow through their ACC schedule. Most games are over before halftime and end with playing 80 players and the fourth quarter being all 3rd and forth string. Out of the possible 15 games per season. We only get to see 2 or 3 competitive games per year. While I’m not complaining about being dominant it has become rather boring. The Georgia game gave us an opportunity to see a highly competitive game early in the season and what we got was a big ol fat egg from the offense. Ouch. That stung and no one expected it. Now I fully expect to see 9-10 more blow outs to finish off the regular season as we make our way back to compete for Another Clemson Championship.

The reason everyone is so upset isn’t just that we lost. It’s the combination of getting embarrassed by Ohio State to end last season and how we’ve heard all offseason that we we had this bad taste in our mouth and would show much improvement and then we are embarrassed again. Losing sucks being humiliated sucks even worse. When the offense scores 3 points that’s as bad as we tiger fans have seen in the Dabo era. Unfortunately it has the appearance that complacency has crept in on the coaching staff. Now whether that is perception or reality you can pick a side but we seem to have lost our edge.
