Re: Why not, Clemson's 95-96 throwbacks were sick

Nothing wrong with throwbacks...it's the way the Nebraska uniforms look on the player that is bad. They almost look like a unitard to me.

yeah, and we were all sick that we lost that game to UGA as well. If ever the program needed a boost, it was that day. Everything set up for us in that game, including UGA's QB going down. Would have been a huge advantage had the backup QB, not been Hines Ward.
UGA kicked our ##### that day, destroyed our Lines of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Leomont and Dawkins kept it close by blocking several kicks that day, FG's and extra points.

the uniforms as plan as they can get it. They don't care what the players like and want; no additions or colors added.
BUT! they are also against the throwbacks as well.
what gives...NM #21

Those Nebraska Uni's are for 1 game only...

not NEBRASKA's new UNI's. Nebraska would/will be one of the last Schools to ever change anything on the helmet/uniform. Hopefully Clemson is in the same boat.
With that being said however, Dr. Osborne would still have never allowed such a blasphemous absurdity of a uniform to ever don his hardassed players on his watch.
Addidas/Old School tribute whatever.

nowadays....See Oregon as a prime example. Kids go to that schools because of all the cool uniforms they wear..these kids don't pledge allegiance to a schools tradition when it comes to uniforms. Another example is that just about all the kids love the all purple look that Clemson does...I like it too and i've been a fan for 32 years... The paw will never change but I could stand a new look here and there..
I think Nebraska is stepping up out of the past and re-inventing itself and I think it will pay off.

Hate to disagree, but the kids that go to Oregon

go there because Oregon is an elite football program.
The uniforms are only a secondary consideration, if they even matter (not sure they do).

Have they always been an elite program?

I never knew a whole lot about oregon until about 10 years ago when they started showing up in the new uniform trend. Now you have kids from everywhere interested in oregon.
I'm just saying...it's cool to play for oregon and be apart of their offense and put up 54 points a game on bigtime competition and wear uniforms that are the talk of espn every weekend.
Yes they are elite now but I think being open about relating to kids with being trendy with their uniforms helped a ton.
