You can check every team. Google their transfer portal. GA Tech had 18 transfer in and 12 transfer out. Think they have improved? Miami had 33 transfers. NC State had 6 in and 12 out. Clemson can keep trying to build on incoming freshmen but they are playing against players that have been in other programs weight training and development for couple of years I think it's evident how that will work in the long run.

Pretty sure Miami had a player in his 8th year of college football. Redshirt + COVID + hardship whatever. It will get better next year but we are still "reloading" with 18 and 19 yr olds while many others are doing it with 23 year olds. That is a WORLD of difference.

What you just said is older rosters are more successful. With that being said do you get an older roster by taking transfers or going after high school recruits? I’ll hang up and take your answer off air thanks.

Actually more experienced rosters are more successful, not necessarily age. But they do generally go hand in hand. That is why you see MORE upper classmen starting on your average college football team then underclassmen. Also I know that the typical 23 year old man is usually stronger and faster than your typical 19 year old. Do you believe otherwise? I'll hang up now and wait for you response.

Why is this even a debate. I had a friend who played DL in D1.

He said the same thing about upper versus lower classman - world of difference.

It's not a debate. That's not the issue. The problem is, 19 year old NFL-level talent beats 23 year old college-level talent. Your scenario only works if the talent level is similar.

I'd wager a team of 5th year 3 and 4 stars beats a roster of freshman 4 and 5 stars 9 times out of 10.

Actually he's not spot on. These teams he's mentioning are not even close to being playoff contenders.

Georgia has the same number of transfers than us

Only difference a transfer would have made this year is if we had a QB transfer in and replace Cade

Georgia has 2 transfers starting. Refresh my memory on the 2 transfers we have in the starting lineup.

You don't think a Keon Coleman would have helped?

I think we have 2-3 decent receivers, but I'd start Coleman over anyone we have in our WR corps.
Not saying the "portal" is the answer to all of our problems, but seems silly to say it couldn't help.
I feel like this team's problems are sort of like the old "describe an elephant with a blindfold on" story. Some describe the tail, others the leg, others the ear, etc., and they argue over what an elephant is. In reality, all are true, just different parts of the same being.
Our elephant parts are: We have made bad hires leading to lousy position coaches with no experience. Therefore we don't develop players well. We aren't using the portal. We aren't teaching the fundamentals in practice well. We don't have team leadership or "fire" anymore. Dabo has gotten complacent and stubborn. We did take a step back in the QB department since Trevor, and in WR as well. The O-line stinks. Maybe Dabo is too involved in the offense instead of handing control over to Riley.
Seems like everyone is arguing over what the problem is, when the answer is actually "yes". They're all issues, and I'm sure that if/when the uproar gets loud enough, Dabo will address each one...likely this offseason.

They will talk about how great it is as soon as Dabo starts using it effectively. Which he certainly will do.
