Chick-Fil-A voted 8th straight year America's best fast-food chain..

but I rarely go anymore (lighted their salads & vanilla ice cream made from scratch) since lines too long outside and Soccer Moms & cute but loud kids inside but still want to sample their MAC & Cheese.
Oh, The lemon pie was great & tart but discontinued 5-6 years ago due to being labor intensive.
What a great American company who still takes off Sundays to rest! Lastly, the Chick-Fil-A Bowl in ATL has been a great FB venue with some super games for Clemson FB and fans..so I thank the Company and Family too!!

Why is this on Tiger NET. Rather spend food money on local venues and of course will use companies that are open daily

Most, if not all, local restaurants close at least one day per week - you're an idiot.

Sounds like I am better for it seeing that I will not be meeting you there.
Enjoy McDonalds or whatever other venue that meets your 7 day mandatory opening criteria.
Folks like you make an innocent thread about a top notch fast food an issue. Some people are not happy unless they are bitching. Make your life happier and don’t click on the post.

I go peak hours because they've gotten so efficient at drive thru. At first glance, you think this will take forever but it's quicker than walk in. Used to love that chicken tortilla soup they'd occasionally have. Still have to get my sandwich and large waffle fry with Polynesian to dip them in. Unhealthy, maybe but sometimes you just got to say wth.

Better to dip your waffle fries in Duke’s than to have Duke’s poured over your coach’s head.
So you’re a step ahead of those other fellas.

When I was a young man like yourself I ate fast food every day at work. I think one can eat that and be OK.
I also jogged 50 miles a week and like BullDog, lifed a few weights. After work I often hit the pool to do laps as it was a block away from my office. I did maybe a 100 miles a week on a bike (to help my running).
These days waking "up again" is my exercise, and seldom get the treat of fast food.

I ate Chic File once at the Student union at Clemson, I remember it being over salted. IDK, my parents cooked good healthy food in our home, so I prefer that..
And of course, my insurance premiums are through the roof because most people in this country do not exercise or eat well. I keep hearing people talk about taking personal responsibility, but apparently that does not include their own health. I am 6'4" 190 lbs at 47, I can do 40-45 push ups at a time, and 12 pull ups, not bad for my age. I am willing to bet Smiling is a fatty.

6’ 4” 260, but I do lift four times a week and do cardio, 4-5 times. I’ve sworn off fast food for the most part other than my dad tax.
I do enjoy the occasional Asian cuisine, but eat far more salads, fish and grilled chicken.

Excellent TB. I bet those guys under your bridge never mess with you.
At 47 I was 6' with a beer belly. At the Kiawah Island Half Marathon ran 1:17:17. A sub 6 pace for a guy that age set the record (since crushed by other SC boys)

I pretty much run that camp, and am building necessary leadership skills to become a warlord when civilization collapses. The Fatties will be the first ones to go, they will not be able to run fast enough when the cannibals go hunting. I figure we will need to reduce the population by about 80-90% to restore a true agrarian civilization that can live off the land. I imagine the fastest and smartest will be around for this, Chic file and its minions will not.

At age 56, after numerous dizzy spells, it was discovered that I was born with a bicuspid aortic valve. At the time I was 6'-0", 200 lbs, practiced karate almost every day. Pushups, pullups, squats, situps, etc. with the usual stretches. Two years later I had full blown open heart surgery to have the aortic valve replaced. While in the hospital, found out I was type 2 diabetic, so immediately cut almost all sugar and carbs from my diet. One year later I almost died when my heart went into tachychardia. Wife drove me to the hospital and I walked in. When they checked my heart rate, they went into a panic; it was 300 bpm. I passed out and they zapped me with the paddles - 3 times before they got me back. Next day had a defibrillator/pacemaker implanted. Obviously, I can no longer practice karate or contact sports, and because of the location of the implanted device, I have been advised to avoid pullups altogether, and keep pushups to low reps once or twice a week. My exercise now consists of daily modified karate kata, walking, and some calesthentics. While I do enjoy an ocassional ice cream or other dessert, I avoid most sweets and high-carb foods. As a result, Today, at age 62 I'm somewhere between 5-11/6-0, 192 lbs. Admitedly, the look of my physique has changed a litte over the last 20 years, and I now sport a little bit of a pot belly, but when I go to reunions with high school friends, I don't feel too bad. Plus, I'm grateful to live in a country where our freedom allows great companies like Chick-Fil-a to emerge and grow and cater to our demands as consumers.

I know people who work at it a lot harder than I do, so by no means am I bragging. I could do a lot better. I'm just responding to Tbalm's speculation as to my condition and giving a little background. Not that long ago I was in fantatsic shape (or as good as possible given the hidden problems), and now, I'm not too bad given problems beyond my control. I forgot to mention earlier that I have also developed complete heart block, wherby the electrical signals from the upper chamber of my heart do not conduct to the lower chamber. This is permanent and I will be dependent on the pacemaker as long as I live. Doctors suspect this was caused by the meds I was taking for afib. I lead an amzingly normal life in spite of all of it, and consider myself to be very fortunate.

Overpriced food IMO. And I got burned out on it when my work partner wanted to eat there every day because they gave Fire/EMS/ police discounts (which I love) So I got very burned out on their food. Needless to say, not a sports topic, even with the weak Bowl connection.

CFA was special and tasted better to me when you had to go to a southern mall to get it back in the 70's and 80's. They used to put it in a box. Now they are as common as McDonald's and just doesn't seem like the special treat it once was IMO.

I haven't been to or ordered from Chik in 4-5yrs and I am sure I probably haven't been there 20 times and I am 52. The last I remember ordering was the chicken sandwich combo, the chicken breast wasnt even the diameter of a baseball, filled half the bun and had one pickle. The sweet tea was like syrup but my 6 waffle fries were pretty good. All of that for around $7 and that was before all this inflation. Haven't been back since and I haven't missed a thing if you ask me. I'm not sure what the infatuation is with ChikFA.
I must admit I don't eat much fast food but if I do, it's usually a sub somewhere or I do like offerings at Arbys like their Gyro, their sub, or some of their MarketPlace sandwiches. But I am not catering to any kids either.

be happening at the rest of the fast food franchises, good service and getting orders right. Anyplace else you go, it's like a Crap Shoot when you get home as to whether you got what you actually ordered. Mostly because the wait staff was busy playing on their phones, or playing grabass with each other.

I admit that i get tired of the menu after a while, but when I do go, I always appreciate the way the employees act and the accuracy and precision of the entire operation.
I went through the Wendy’s drive thru last night and it was a totally dismal scene of apathy and disorganization.
To me, Chic Fil A is a great American success story and their huge popularity totally attests to this.

My SIL literally grew up on CFA (lived in one of Truett’s foster homes) in GA before finishing his education on the West Coast.
He says that the CA franchises are not up to the national standard. So if you are truly a Western Tiger, you’re not getting the same experience as we are.

of the day... it's just a chicken sammich... no more, no less. Which are fine occasionally. Have never understood the passion some folks have for their food. I suspect a lot of their customers are parents with kids who only eat chicken nuggets every day of the week. I could be wrong...
And I don't give 2 farts about the politics of anything... be it businesses, movies, music, whatever. If it gives me pleasure and I enjoy it, that's all that matters to me.

The franchises close to here leave much to be desired. Wife and I stopped going couple years ago due to cold food, bad service, etc. Employees are unbelievably polite, but they get orders wrong often.
Rush's chicken sandwich better IMO.
