Why is our women's soccer team so much better than our men's

Someone explain to me why our female US soccer team is the dominant team in the world and our Men's team is middle of the pack or worse.

Mainly due to America being more progressive when it comes to womens sports.

Because of priorities mainly. There really is no money in the USA for soccer. In this country our best male athletes play football, baseball, and even basketball. Can you imagine if players like CJ and Sammy to name a couple grew up playing soccer and not football. For girls the best athletes play soccer and then softball and basketball. And just because they love the game.

Our women's team is selected and plays together for two years ... While our men's team is also selected early... They do not play together for the all of that time as they have professional teams that they play for....
Selection for men's team in the past has been done "at last minute"... Not developmentally...this has been changed with this new coach.... We will see
Also... Our best male athletes chose football and basketball...

What choices in athletics do women have? With men, the best athletes choose football, basketball and baseball over soccer which makes our men's soccer team average. But, the best women athletes choose soccer allot more in the US and since we are clearly better than everyone else athletically, our best women's soccer team is one of the best.

Men's soccer teams for various nations in the world. I'm no mathmetician but if we have been in the top 16 last two WC's out of 209 that is NOT middle of the pack or worse...
Seems like we would be in the top 10% in the world.
