Why is everyone so down

On our schedule? Look at Alabama last year. True Freshman QB and they went to the NC... And with our defense returning we are literally in the same situation. Enough complaining and lets get ready for a great season.

I saw many predicting 8-4 or 10-2? What kind of confidence is that?

People just being realists. I remember a coot telling me they'd never lose to Clemson again after their 5th consecutive win. At some point, the team colored shades have to come off and LOOK at what you've got.
We lost a Heisman candidate (winner in my book) and NO team could afford to sell out on the run. Watson would absolutely pick them apart. This year, they can put pressure on us to throw it and make our less experienced QBs beat them with their arm. 3 things can happen when you throw it and 2 of them are bad.
That'd bring me to my next thought. How confident are we in running the ball? I know at one point last season, we had pretty average to below average rushing stats compared to other top ten teams. We HAVE to get better running the ball. I think we've got the horses to do...it just has to translate on the field. For us to supposedly have had one of the best offenses ever preseason, we sure did sputter at the beginning.
All I'm saying is, you can easily set yourself up for disappointment thinking we'll repeat last years result. I mean, how often does that happen? I hope our team has those aspirations, but as a fan, and an older one at that, I feel I've seen enough football to know the odds. I just don't see the harm in reeling in expectations. It's those same fans that think we'll be perfect that'll be the first ones calling for Dabo's head if we slip up a little.

Who would have thought a true Freshman QB would have taken Bama to a Natty after they lost Henry (Heisman Winner), think about all our defense coming back along with many of our weapons.

Im not saying it's impossible, just improbable. Would you feel comfortable betting the farm we'll win it all? If not, then there is some reasonable hesitation in you. That hesitation is why those that think a 9-3 or 10-2 season is possible.

fans don't think their tickets will sell if they can't use them or pundits think it is weak. I'm not sure what you are asking about.
