I see that ESPN has reached a deal with the ACC.
The college Game is no longer Amateur and it is looking like a professional league.
Does the NFC East get to negotiate its own contract at the detriment of the rest of the NFL.
If All the teams are in the NCAA then why are contracts not negotiated for the good of the league and not just some.
It will be the end of the NCAA. Well maybe that’s the goal.

Concluded that the nfl does not have a monopoly and can do whatever they want.
Universities do have a monopoly and can not do whatever they want.
Anything the Universities are dishing out can be regulated.
your problem is with the fans. Nil money is coming from the fans and is uncontrollable.

Good point, fortunately or unfortunately there is no longer a governing body for college FB. The NCAA has lost that position and it seems each conference and TV network they are tied to are doing what is best for them. Right now it appears the B1G and SEC are winning the arms race.

The NCAA has never been empowered to negotiate contracts for individual conferences or schools. This is not new.

Wow how dense can you get. Ok 3rd graders, football teams in the NFL all are part of the the NFL. Schools in a conference in the NCAA are members of that conference. The NFL is a huge business, the NCAA is a huge business, each conference is a huge business and each network is a huge business. Time for recess.

In 1962 Pete Rozelle convinced the owners that the whole could be greater than the sum of its parts and consolidated the teams into the first league wide contract. Each school owns their own rights and negotiates the use of those rights with their conference. In order to be like the NFL each school would have to cede its right to the same entity and allow it to negotiate for all. Then of course there would be some seriously dangerous regulatory waters to navigate.

The NFL and college are two completely different things. The NFL is a parent organization that issues franchises to owners to start teams in the league. The NCAA is not a league. The schools are all individual entities. The NCAA is just an organization founded by those independent entities, I.E the schools. It's not a top-down structure like the nfl.
In 1984, the Supreme Court ruled in a lawsuit brought against the NCAA by Oklahoma and Georgia that the schools are independent entities in the NCAA cannot restrict or otherwise manage TV deals negotiated by the individual schools. The conferences are simply a group of schools that have decided to bargain collectively. If all of the schools in the NCAA decided to bargain is one Collective unit, then they could do that. However they chosen not to do that, and by law the NCAA cannot force them to do that.
Plus in your example, the NFC East is just a division within the nfc. It would be like saying that Atlantic division of the ACC could have negotiated their own contract independent of the coastal division. Also know that the NFL does in fact have two separate TV contracts. The NFC has a contract with Fox and the AFC has a contract with cbs.

Well thank you for that . I understand that although I don’t think I knew of that Court Case.
But it still does not answer why would they Negotiate separately? They could choose to do that as a group.
The way it is now with each school or conference for themselves the greed will eventually ruin it!
Then you have a few big schools playing each other and no one except for die hard fans of each school will be watch.
Kind of like the National Championship this year, that should have been a huge game with crazy ratings but it was not!

They don’t negotiate together because some have a better product than others. It does the SEC no good to jointly negotiate with the ACC. They dilute their product and we get the benefit.

They negotiate separately because they can make more money that way. The SEC schools and the Big Ten schools to get more money than everybody else by having their own contracts instead of having one that they have to split with the rest of college football.
