Never thought I'd say this, but maybe dabo could learn something from brad
I've heard this story that we tried to snag some OL guys but failed. I'm dubious, but I see other coaches at clemson giving it the good ole college try

Dabo doesn’t need pointers on how to recruit the portal. He might need help convincing him he needs to use the portal.

You are probably right.
I've heard him say a few times that we offered a bunch of offensive linemen that turned us down though
So he makes it sound like he needs some help

— CBB and his staff really work the portal. They monitor it. Early contact and creating a relationship is a key.
— Basketball is different. Two guys at needed positions out of the portal can have a major impact on a program.

The same can be said for our football team.
For example, getting a qb/wr from the portal could make a huge difference

It's bc basketball players want to play in the ACC bc the ACC has a history of being one of the BEST leagues to play basketball in....

with his best team in years. We've played one NCAA Tournament game in the last five years winning zero.
Dabo Swinney has played in 3 College Football Playoffs, 2 National Championship games and has won 1 National Championship since Brad Brownell won an NCAA Tournament game.
What criteria are you using to conclude that Brad is "good at using the portal?"

I think we can be mature enough to realize that Dabo is an overall better coach than Brad Brownell, but there are also a few things Brad is better at than Dabo
We have integrated starting portal players that have made a positive impact on the team, right?

Because Clemson basketball cannot and he as rarely ever recruited well.
BB watches other players develop and grow into their game. Then offers players opportunity to show what they can do in ACC.
Much easier sell.
