Who thinks Cowherd

Is just full of a bullsh**and talks out of his as*, and happens to be right about a few things to give him credibility?
I don’t really understand how they put these guys in these positions. The people deserving of these positions on TV are former athletes and coaches who know the sport.
This guy is literally sitting there saying Jimmy Butler is better than Jayson Tatum because of his life journey.
Apparently Jimmy Butler had a much tougher life than Tatum. Tatum went to prep school and mother was a lawyer and was well off. Butler had it much worse.
Dude just shut up and talk betting odds and stats, that’s all you’re there for.

Cowherd and every other sports media personality have no interest in being correct. Their only goal is to get you to watch no matter how absurd their take gets.
I don’t think Cowherd is right about Jimmy Butler and I don’t think Cowherd even thinks he’s right, but his goal was to make people watch and talk about him. And it looks like he’s pretty successful at that.

The guy does a great job taking air out of the conversation.
He is not paid to be correct, he's paid to get dummies talking and he does a fine job in doing so.
Heck, even Dabo went there.

Butler with 35 points and 6 steals. Tatum 0 shots and 3 turnovers in the 4th quarter.
Cowherd - "That line last night(Miami -8.5) was disrespectful. I love both these players. But, they're different guys, different personalities. They've had different journeys. Doesn't mean one's better than the other. Butler's like don't feel sorry for me. Tatum's like I'll be back and I think he will. I wouldn't be shocked if in game 2 Tatum drops 40. But, to not have a field goal in the fourth with tatum. To have 2 traveling calls in the last 90 seconds. It was kind of predictable. by the way, since the start of the 2020 playoffs, Playoff Jimmy B is tied for 3rd with the most wins. More than Steph, Lebron, Booker and KD. Jimmy Butler is what we wish all of our favorite players were - better in the playoffs. Never back down from a fight. Life's not been perfect. Never a victim." Those are 2 different dudes. With 2 different styles. They're both great for basketball. That was one of my favorite playoff games I have watched. That was absolutely one of the best 2 and a half hours I've spent watching pro basketball in a long time. My guess is that Boston rallies and comes back very strong in game 2 and evens it up."
Cowherd was spot on, as usual.

...and I don't really care.
He does speak out of both side of his mouth. Finebaum is nothing but a troll, etc...the list of personalities like them is a mile long.
They have jobs because people listen. They're not "experts". They're paid media entertainers.
All jokes aside, the only reason I even know what they say is because of Tigernet.

Cowherd, Skip Bayless, Stephen A, Dan Patrick, Rich Eisen and even Mel Kiper Jr. all have exactly the same job: to get people to watch their network, watch/listen/subscribe to their social media & podcasts & whatever outlet they use, and to get people involved in a conversation involving that topic and person so that they (the consumers) will crave more of it and tune in even more. The more eyes and ears, the more lucrative the advertising becomes.
Some of these guys have more valid takes than others. (Bayless is probably the biggest shill and less reputable guy in the list.) The fact of the matter is that regardless of the incredulity of the statement, there are those that will agree, and those that will differ. If you are still talking about "what Cowherd said" the next day, he's done his job. He has a fundamentally different job than Scott Van Pelt, who is there primarily to talk about the games and to a lesser degree entertain/enrage you.
I tend to respect Dan Patrick and Rich Eisen the most out of my list, putting Cowherd somewhere in the middle, and Bayless and Stephen A at the bottom. Kiper, McShay, etc. relies on a lot of bad information and rarely knows what guy will go where in the draft, but it's all a game to make people talk about "Kiper is crazy, no way Bryce Young should go first overall!"
I do think Butler is clutch though. I'd much rather have him than LeBron.
