Who beats us next year?
Dec 9, 2014, 10:18 AM
|
|
And why?
Id venture to say our offense will be every bit as potent if not more so than when Sammy and Nuk both took the field ...
Also, i figure FSU will reload, but they are losing a whole lot. Losing more key players and players in general
SC? Ha, i can see them actually getting worse. I mean as of now, can any body tell me who their QB will be next year? Best bet for there offense is for mike an shaq to stay. Buddy if mine says they got two 6''4, 4* receivers coming in next year. Dk how much that will help
And ultimately , i think we will win the games were suppose to win, as we have for the most part here recently.
So who beats us, and if so, why?
Don't see Clemson losing a game this year.

If we do lose a game, Clemson will beat us. But as of right now and getting a high octane offense back, I think we should be favored to win pretty much every game. The D should still hang around the top 25 in total D, which is good enough with a healthy DW and co.

road. Miami on road another toughy. Notre Dame won't be a pushover. Probably will finish the usual 10-2 or 9-3 as the defense will learn to gel a bit.
Though, 2016 should be a big big big year.

Everything sets up nicely with FSU and GT at home. SCar at the brice doesnt worry me too much...that program is in the toilet. Our biggest chance at losing will be at Louisville. The biggest question mark as far as our team goes is of course, our defense. But one would have to think that coach V will have that under control. Another positive is that watson doesnt know how to lose when he plays a whole game, so if he stays healthy, he very well could win them all by himself. Hopefully Peake will be healthy by the fall. Next year should be very exciting, to say the least.

Four toughest games in my opinion @ Miami- its always tough in Miami and they are improving Home vs Notre Dame- have to respect the history and if Golston is back they will likely have a better year next year Home vs GT- always a tough game for both no matter the records Home vs FSU- always tough but could be a down year for them if everybody projected to leave is gone. I believe at worst we finish 10-2 in regular season but I see great possibility of a undefeated year.

Our worst games are at home. FSU and ND, GaTech, And our tough road games we should be better. Louisville, SC, Miami.
Honestly we should be favored in every game next year. If the defense can play decent then we will have a great year. Offense will be good.

A little less rewarding upper class men who do not have what it takes, and making the hard choices to put the superior talent in.
We got robbed this year by starting the season with stoudt.
I really like dabo, and i do not bash him out here, but grow some balls dabo and put the best players in. if someone gets their feelings hurt, let them use that "character" they have to get over it.
It sickens me to think how we were sold the whole cole gives us the best chance of winning crap. you are paid good money to make tough choices....make them

hope with Watson getting healthy (and staying healthy) and the defense reloading, but that still doesn't mean we will go undefeated. Even if we were given a 90% chance to win all of our games, we would still only have a 25% chance to go 13-0. It's really tough to go undefeated and typically requires extreme dominance and/or quite a bit of luck.

Road game @ Louisville will be a challenge.
I think a lot of it depends on how the defense responds after some big losses. If the Defense stays in the top 20, with the maturation of our freshmen on offense, we will be a tough out.
Hopefully we got all of our major injuries out of the way this year.

Very insightful analysis, by quozzel(u) :
Notre Dame loses six guys on offense next year...including QB Everett Golson, and four of five offensive line starters. They also lose four guys on D, as well as their punter and kicker. That's a lot to replace...Notre Dame will be down next year, not that they were ever really that good this year.
FSU loses eight starters on offense - assuming, of course, Winston declares for the NFL draft and hauls out of Tallahassee as fast as he humanly can, which I think everybody knows is coming. They get almost everybody back on D unless somebody declares early. They will be down.
Louisville loses WR Devonte Parker and seven other offensive starters, and they also lose about half their defense, including DE Lorenzo Mauldin. I know, I know...Petrino's an offensive genius, but losing 3 OL, all three starting wideouts, and your #1 tailback do not make you a better team. Louisville will be down...especially their defense, which was tough as nails.
BC is another team that'll be down. They're losing their entire starting offensive line - they had five grad students across their front - plus their QB, Tyler Murphy. They were already as unexplosive as it gets at the skill positions. They also lose 5 starters on D.
South Carolina will also be way down on paper. They're losing their QB, Dylan Thompson, along with four other offensive starters, and RB Mike Davis has already told everyone he's going pro and walked with the seniors on Senior Day. I'm also hearing RB Brandon Wilds and OT Brandon Shell are also leaning towards going pro. Defensively they return nine of eleven, which is good, but they were also ranked 90th out of 126 FCS teams...which is distinctly not good, and their front seven was as suspect a unit as there was in a Power 5 school, which is something that's only recruiting and development fixes. They were 6-6 this year; they look like a 4-8 team next year unless Spurrier can manufacture a QB somehow.
Georgia Tech is the big worry to me. Their offense looks as good as it's looked in awhile and they return most of it. They do lose WR Deandre Smelter, their big target at WR, and that clearly hindered them against FSU in the ACC title game.
Other than that, who is there? Wake Forest? NC State? Syracuse? Meh.
We do lose eight defensive starters ourselves, which will sting big-time, especially considering who they are, but our depth and recruiting, hopefully, will show. I'm personally considered about strongside end - only Kevin Dodd returns who has seen any kind of action - and middle 'backer with Anthony leaving and no obvious replacement on deck, but other than that the D looks very solid...and our offense should be scary if Watson is healthy and some of those young superstuds like Hyatt and Fruhmogen can contribute early on the OL.
Only Georgia Tech, FSU, and maybe - maybe - Louisville look at all threatening, and we get the Bees and 'Noles at home. There will definitely be no better time for Clemson to win the ACC.

Very worried about GT because of everybody they have coming back. Thought smelter would be back, glad that's not the case. Their D (which was far from a liability) only loses 4 starters, too.
