Maybe you should take the time to read everything I wrote before you say I have a problem with Christians or Christianity.
Comments like yours turn me further away from wanting to believe. I am not against any person who believes. I once believed. I want to believe again. I find it hard to believe based on how Chrstians act and react to people.
Your reply is a prime example of why some of us are confused.

conversation with my daughter. Faith is a one-to-one relationship with God. It's between you and the Maker. We work to nourish that relationship and allow it to grow in us. We have to do this in spite of world tragedy, personal setbacks, and others who may not be the best example of faith. Please try to block out the noise of this world and focus on that personal relationship. Prayfully, Hugh

I dare say if a fan talked to Coach Danny Ford like that, he might be invited to meet outside. I don’t care how upset you are as a fan, you better respect the Coach as a person and a leader. You call someone on the carpet, you might be face down on it.

Imagine thinking that "college football coach" is an office automatically deserving of respect.

Agreed. Just stupid. Like the people who forget that Clemson is a university, not a football team. But that's what happens when you have so many non-graduates as fans.

Or suit Tyra up and make her go out for one play. At least 80,000 would be hoping a Domer would plant her in front of the Tiger bench.

Yeah that's a hard no from me.
You don't reward someone with a unique experience because they decided to disrespect an all-time Clemson great that caused a fire storm.
Imagine how many other folks get an idea to do the same and expect the same treatment.

This is exactly why someone like me has a hard time turning towards a God. We, as a society, Christian this and Christian that, but when it comes to turning the other cheek and forgiving someone, society seems to forget about that part.
This young man apologized for his comments today. Even after apologizing, some of you "Christians" still can not forgive him and turn the other cheek. You even go so far as to say your Head Coach, who is a Christian, should do as you do and not forgive, turn the other cheek and show some grace towards a young man who obviously seemed repentive of his actions today. I am not saying you are not a Christian if you think like that. I am saying you make it harder for non-believers to believe or former believers to believe again.
This is what turns someone like me off from religion. It's not that I don't want to believe, It is just hard to believe when I see Christians that won't give a Veteran a chance to be sorry. It's when I see Christians preach about forgiveness but they won't show forgiveness themselves. I am not saying the young man was right. I am saying that showing grace to this young man may teach him a bigger lesson than showing him hatred. Dabo, has said he is a Christian. I believe him. I truly do believe he is, but that is what Christians do, they show grace even when they don't need to. They show grace because their grace may be the thing that helps that other person. Who knows, maybe Dabo has reached out to the man.
Sometimes just being the bigger person, even when you dont need to be, teaches a lesson that will forever be engraved in someone's mind for life.
Just my thoughts. I guess some of you can demonize me now too.

on this board.
As a Christian, all I can say is I’m not perfect. God actually told me as much. The ole ‘for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God’ verse. Christ rectified all that for me by dying on that cross. As a believer in who he was and what he did, when he died, I died. He paid the penalty for my sins. All of them. The ones I committed in the past, the ones I committed today, and every one I commit in the future. He died in my place and by simply believing in that, I live. I did zero to earn that. That’s the beauty of grace.
You know Paul actually had a personal experience with Christ. Even with him being that close to Christ, he told us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. So it’s a journey. We all stumble.
Even Dabo.
Have a good evening buddy.

You seem to think Dabo owes the caller an apology unless your OP is BS. My Q was what for. Do better.

Why don't you take a shot at answering my initial question of what Dabo would have to apologize to Tyler for, instead of off kilter ranting about Jesus and such?
Can you do that? What's the apology for?

Have you never apologized to anyone just to keep the peace? Have you ever apologized to someone even when you knew you were correct but maybe your delivery of speech was innaporpirate? Have you ever apologized because you let your temper get the best of you even if your words were correct? Sometimes you apologize not because you are wrong but because your apology may truly help someone in need. As a Chrsitian, I am sure Dabo understands that. I also believe Dabo may apologize in private, although I have no proof if he does or doesn't.
I think I answered your question, Sport.

Thank you for that.
As to your questions, yes and no to all largely depending on circumstances.
Do you believe Dabo fits any of those categories for that kind of rapprochement with Tyler? Dabo didn't sound out of control or over emotional. He did cover a lot of territory though in response, as did the caller in his mic moment. It was a stern but Steady Eddie talk from Coach to a junior. What's more likely taking place is Tyler is feeling pretty recalcitrant about his words and is taking some things to heart after that lecture.
I like the idea of Tyler getting recognition on our Military Appreciation Day, though. Thank you for your service and being part of the Tiger family. Heck yeah. I just don't buy the apology angle to it.
Go Tigers.

I hope and pray for your sake you make things right by repenting
Nov 1, 2023, 6:13 AM
[ in reply to Re: Whisky Tango Frankenstein does Dabo have to apologize for? ] |

Repenting for sins and make Jesus Lord of your life, Eternal damnation, burning in hell because you want to judge the God who made you and loves you no matter your sins isn’t worth playing God and judging others and where they stand or don’t.
You’ll only answer for yourself, most who reject God eternally are so busy looking or comparing themselves to others they miss the eternal love that’s been waiting and wanting a relationship with them since they were born.
Jesus paid for all your sins, he gave us an easy button but he’s a jealous God who loved you enough to give you freewill to choose, don’t let pride and arrogance stand in the way of the best thing that could ever happen to you.
Hurt people always hurt others, it’s why looking at others to judge them when you didn’t make them or walk in their shoes will never work for your eternal destiny. God is the only judge and he loves you and is waiting with open arms ready to begin the best relationship ever.
Praying for you to make him Lord, it Matters more than anything else period.
Your time could be up in the next second, don’t play with fire 🔥.

The first one seemed accurate enough for the mic time and the caller's own rant. Fair on the second, though. Dabo really doesn't know how dumb that dude might be.

I feel sure Dabo would be receptive to doing that or just meeting with Tyler.

Yes sir. I think he would as well. I really believe he has probably tried to reach out to the young man. Unfortunately, that action would seemingly dissapoint so many on this board who believe Dabo should have his pitch fork at the ready instead of his prayer cloth.

So many of you in this thread have proclaimed your Christianity in the past. Some of you are good people who truly believe and are not hypocrites and some of you are no better than the heathens you proclaim to distance yourselves from. People post on Tigernet daily asking for prayers and there is nothing wrong with this. Some of you pray because Jane Winkopps pet spider died and you offer T&P's like Halloween candy in a new subdivision. Yet, some of you who are prayer warriors are on this very thread condemning a 29 year old Veteran for speaking his mind and some of you are hoping he gets injured, gets put in his place, gets outed, has his life ruined, etc. This is what turns non Christians away from God. I have believed before, even recently, but it is the actions of some of you prayer warriors that make me want to run as far from God as I can. Why would I want to be around Christians, who, in my time of need want to pile on and make life worse for me as they pray for a pet spider and it's untimely demise. Yet. Who you are doing this to a guy named Tyler whom you never met. This man apologized for his behavior and yet this is till not good enough for you.
Your Christain actions turn someone like me away from God. This is not everyone on this thread and it certainly is not everyone who disagrees with me. However, a simple thread was started and was meant to be postive and some of you Christians decided to make it negative and, then, doubled down on belittling a man who applogized for his behavior and actions. Your turn the other cheek rule only seems applicable if it is you who needs forgiveness. However, when you go to your Church this Sunday ask your God if your statements in this thread have met his expectations.
