One of my biggest pet peeves is when a male friend has me

over to his house and while we are chatting, offers me a cookie. And then of course I always say, "These cookies are good, is that Nutmeg I taste in there?". Of course they always act like they did not hear you, but I always persists and say, "No, I swear that it tastes like there is a hint of Nutmeg.". This of course eventually leads to the obligatory response, "It is a family recipe and I can't tell you.". And as usual, within minutes, I am being ushered out of their house due to my pathological persistence and this has cost me a lot of friendships.
Well, I got tired of losing guy friends, so I tried something different this last time. Instead of persisting, I just casually told my male counterpart that "I am allergic to Nutmeg, and if there is, you need to get me to the emergency room right away or I could die from anaphylactic shock."
I am not sure if anyone else has had this same experience, but it turns out it was cinnamon the entire time.

I think I see the problem .
