I’ve had the same back fusion he had and I’ve had to deal with back pain for the last 27 years, and I’m only 46. So I know what physically he’s gone through.
Tip of the hat for battling back and winning this weekend. He’s the best golfer in my lifetime.
Having said that, it doesn’t change the fact he’s had a horrible attitude towards the crowd, officials and people working the events.(I personally know several)
For the record, I’m not a Trump fan. Don’t know why you’d bring that up unless the race issue. And Tiger is adored by the media, Trump is hated.
And his marriage indiscretion wasn’t once or twice, he had how many...12,13 mistresses??
Also, how do you know he’s NOT like that now?

As far as Tiger, I know he is liked generally on tour by fellow golfers, caddies, fans, and people in the industry. I know that because I know a couple tour caddies. Also, I haven't heard of any new women coming out saying they are cheating with Tiger. He lives with his Mom, girlfriend, and his ex wife is his good friend and she lives down the street from him I compared to Trump, because they both cheated on their wives. Trump with #### stars...etc etc. Just saying if one loves Trump, how could you have an issue with Tiger's infidelity in the past? Big deal.

If he was going to win another major, certainly Augusta was the place he was going to do it. Down the stretch (especially at #12) he showed his experience and knowledge of the course. With his game he can certainly win at other venues, but this one was the most likely. Of course the US Open this year is at Pebble Beach, so that is another place he could win. He doesn't like playing on Poa greens, but he knows PB very well and will feel at home there.

Always been more of a Phil man myself, and have no personal stake in the morality of who is the most holy golfer.
I will say there was humanity in this formerly great athlete who made so many bone-headed decisions and came back from physical breakdowns and social exile to win a Masters with his kids and his mother in tow. And if you don't believe in forgiveness, it is still one he11uva story. And this is coming from a casual golfer who has always been lukewarm to Sir Tiger.
So good on you CMoney for sticking with your dude through thick and thin. Will Tiger win a another major? I have no idea and no skin in the game. But today, every golf week, and the next ten majors will be all about Tiger at least until football starts back. Well played Tiger!

Preciate it. Rickie is my number 1 tho but I have pulled for Tiger since I first watched golf. I have no problem with people not pulling for him I just do not like people who degrade him and say what a horrible person he is when they do not even know him or what he has been through. It is hard to he humble when you are famous. He seems to have changed for the better some imo. Thanks again.

It took Lefty 12 years to win his 1st major, then he won 3 in 3 years. Of course, Tiger had a lot to do with that. Rickie seems close to breaking through - hopefully this year.

I for one think he is overhyped.
Much like Alabama is a great football program, I'm allowed to hate them. Why can't people be allowed to not be fans of Tiger?
I don't like that he was groomed for golf since being a toddler (boarderline child abuse), his personality on and off the course is less than endearing, they way he cheated on his wife, his addictions, etc. He seems to be all about Tiger. I cant see myself being friends with him. I'm not a Bubba fan either.
So there. Golf does not need Tiger - despite the pundits telling otherwise.

You've lost your mind. He's arguably the greatest athlete of all time and is by far the most recognizable. He revolutionized the game of golf.

I'm allowed to not be a fan of Tiger. I respect his skills. But I don't have to like him. I am allowed to not like him & to like others more - without being called a Tiger Hater.

He only has the 2nd most wins in PGA history after Sam Snead I believe. Yeah overrated. That is a record that will never be broken if he gets it.

Not liking him is one thing. To hate somebody and say they are a horrible person when you do not know them is another.
Also how can you think he is overhyped? He is by far the greatest golfer of my lifetimes and in his prime he was the greatest golfer ever. Don't think you can over hype him. He is more so the GOAT of golf than probably anybody is to any other sport.

I will surely watch golf without Tiger but you cannot deny that he brings the biggest crowds, gets the loudest roars, and draws a bigger t.v. audience.

I've always disliked him, although I'd stop short of calling him names such as scumbag (as mentioned earlier in this thread).
Originally, I thought it ridiculous that a grown man would call himself by the childish nickname of Tiger. Fine when you're 7 years old, but once you reach adulthood, use your real name.
Later, whilst I was still involved with golf, and the British Open was held at the course of which I was a member; I had the misfortune to come into contact with Woods on a few occasions, and found him to be extremely arrogant, self-absorbed, and ignorant. Plus he was rude and dismissive of young kids seeking his autograph or photo (I don't care if he blows off adults, but take time for the kids).
He's a fine golfer, probably the 2nd best of all-time, but as a human being he is deeply flawed (and yes, I accept that I am far from perfect).
