Morris was not interviewed by Vandy; TCI was wrong

Jan 15, 2014, 10:30 AM

The Guy from the State paper just tweeted: For any Clemson Tweeps, Vandy has three confirmed interviews and none of them are Chad Morris.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

wait, now he's not good enough for even Vandy???

Jan 15, 2014, 10:32 AM

so either he's so awesome that Clemson can't keep him, or if he stays it's because he's not even good enough for Vandy. Which is it?

If true,

TCI has egg on it's face.

Kind of reminds me of the "The Dude" for WVU.

TCI always seems to have egg on its face...remember Montravis Adams to Clemson?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

TCI has been right about some things.

Jan 15, 2014, 10:44 AM [ in reply to If true, ]

But I'll with hold judgement until later. The Montravious Adams situation was bad. But they did say he was not going to Clemson a few minutes before MA announced. I still think MA changed his mind at the last minute while telling Clemson he was going there the whole time.

They interviewed Adams after and if I remember correctly he

Look at his competition.

Those guys have much more experience in college or pros so it isn;t a big deal that he wasn;t called or didn;t interview.

Even better for Clemson to keep him a few more years. Either way he is going to have to take a small time job before getting to the big show. Same all most coaches other than Dabo.

Needs some big wins over teams he shouldn;t beat (although those games are hard to find) and lots of points on decent teams

This coot is right....

An league championship, a BCS championship, wins over LSU, Ohio State, UGA, Auburn, etc is really not the quality resume that he would have it he'd won a state championship at SCAR.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Somehow that maroon think that hurts my feelings?

Jan 15, 2014, 10:37 AM

I know Chad isn't ready, Vandy knows Chad isn't ready and more important than that, Chad knows he isn't ready.

It will take at least two more years before Chad feels ready and probably three to five before he sells that to a D1 school.

Chad's incentive to leave ...

Jan 15, 2014, 10:43 AM

Nothing other than ego-driven ambition should be pushing Chad Morris away from Clemson at this point in his career.

Given his salary level and resources at Clemson, there is absolutely no reason for him to be in a huge rush to jump into a HC job just anywhere one opens up.

Chad Morris is pretty darn great at what he does. He may be great at the next level, but there's no way to be sure of that from current evidence.

If a school offers him the HC job and he accepts it ... both will be taking a big risk at this juncture.

Where did they say he definitely interviewed?

Jan 15, 2014, 11:05 AM

I see where they said there was mutual interest and that they were trying to get confirmation on whether or not an interview too place. Can OP link the thread or article?

They said it, and also said that Chad Morris was still at the Convention yesterday at 11;42 with the Vandy's AD. When in fact he was at his office in Clemson. They are a bunch of hacks.

Is that Morris interview would be tomorrow or Fridag bc their AD has been at the convention. Brian schottenheimer is interviewing today.

They key word there might be "confirmed."

Jan 15, 2014, 11:50 AM

Three confirmed interviews doesn't mean they didn't interview four or five or ten people, just that they are confirming three. They could be doing some interviews off-the-record, to protect certain people.

TCI could be wrong, of course. But they might still be right.

I stopped visiting that place after watching their recruiting coverage last year.
