When K is finally done coaching

Mar 20, 2022, 7:35 PM

I wanna be invited to the monster party that the NCAA referees are gonna put on. It’ll be like if Woodstock was held at the playboy mansion. That whining sniveling crybaby has got to be the basketball officials’ public enemy #1.

I don't think he has won more games than any coach in history by being a crybaby. You must not watch many games because I have seen a basketball game where coaches applauded the refs every time they blow the whistle. You are obviously a jealous Tar Heel fan so just admit K is a great coach and move on.

If it were a Clemson coach arguing his point of view vociferously you’d be cheering.

What a wet noodle.

He's won a lot of games, but please don't try to sell the idea that he's not a whiner. I watched the game too, and I saw him run to the refs every time he didn't get the call he wanted.

Almost all successful coaches get like that where they think they are entitled to every call. Dean, K, Boeheim. had all gone that way

Nope, Clemson basketball fan since 1965. Coach Ratface Susshevski is one of the worst examples of a coach imaginable.

He constantly whines and curses at the officials in language so vile the nearby fans and his coaches and team all have to sign waivers due to possible heart attacks from the vile scretches.

This is a coach that called four campus-paper sportswriters into his offices where he cursed them in a 10-minute tirade because they wrote a campus newspaper article that he didn't like.

I remember a game when Yurkonis was playing for Clemson in a game at Duke. It was late season w Duke expected to be a high seed in the Madness. (Dookey had a star guard that was a high scorer and a very pesky ball thief, that got away with a lot of steals that were hand-slapping on arms (those steals were fouls, unless you play for a scretching and cursing ratface, or UNCheat.) Yurkonis was 6'-9" and a good 3-point shooter, a good passer and ball-handler, a good defender and a good rebounder. The Duke (jerk) guard that was about 6'-2" got under Yurkonis' chin trying to steal the ball. Yorkunis moved his arms to keep the ball away from the (jerk) Duke guard that was under his chin, with a clear slap on Yorkunis' arm. At the same time, the jerk, stepped back slightly and the elbow of Yurkonis hit the jerk in the head -- clearly an accident. The jerk fell to the floor.

Ratface thought he had lost the jerk guard to an injury, just before the Madness. He went beserk! He rushed out to talk to the 2 closest officials. The officials had called a (plain) foul on Yurkonis -- not sure why, but it was Clemson playing at Duke, and no one was surprised. (Had the players been on opposite teams, it would have been expected that the foul would have been called on the Clemson player.) The officials checked the replay and let the foul on Yurkonis stand. Ratface went more ballistic yelling and screaming into the faces of the officials, after calling them over. The officials went back to the replay screen for another minute; then they changed the call to an intentional foul on, and disqualified, Yorkunis.
The Duke (jerk) guard got up off the floot and calmly hit the 2 free-throws. Duke scored from the following inbound, too, after the shots and blew the close game open from there.
Then there was the time that the Duke timeclock operator robbed Clemson of a chance for a game-winning shot at the end of the game at Duke. Clemson had made a remarkable comeback from 20 pts down and the game was going to the wire. When a Duke basket was made, the clock continued to run while the ball was recovered and handed to the official to allow Clemson to inbound the ball. The Clemson coach questioned the 3 seconds lost. Ratface argued to accept the time lost off the clock. The officials left the time off the clock and Clemson had 1.3 seconds to go the length of the Court and get a shot off. (Everyone knew it took a minimum of 1.7 seconds to catch a pass, turn and shoot, due to previous Madness games.) Game to Duke. Newspapers noted the discrepancy of the timing, and allowing it to stand, but the ACC office said the outcome stood (surprised?).
These games showed the ratface as he was -- a cheater that bullied the refs until he got the scoring advantage he needed to win.
Pretty-much a despicable person on the hardwood.

We’re in no position to question or throw shade at any other team’s BB coach.

My hand has been shaken by John Wooden … I hope/expect to have that pleasure with Coach K someday.
