When I saw the kid sitting on first base

Taking a break while his teammates were getting their Axx handed to them in the biggest game of the year I knew that Lee was out of his league as a coach for my team. Having a “who gives as #####” attitude” at a moment like this doesn’t set well with me. This is not the Clemson I have supporter for 60 plus years. I am baseball 100 per cent and have been for a very , very long time and this attitude kills me. When the game isn’t fun and important to you it’s time to get out .

I absolutely agree with you. You never sit down on the field. That’s an insult to all Clemson players who have worn the uniform. That same player walked after a ball that got by him with a runner on first, failed to cover third base on a bunt with a man on first which allowed the runner to go from first to third, showed up his pitcher by glaring at him when a ball went to the screen are just some of his lack of hustle and desire from today’s game.

Me too FT. Serious business. Teo and Hall behind home plate didn't tell Sharpe to slide either. Not that it mattered in the end because he was safe. Little things can turn into big things.

I was a player-coach for a church league softball team one time. Kid in right field squatted down during play, of course with no injury. I was in left field and told him to stand up in playing position or leave the field. His church league softball career pretty much ended rhat day.

Yes and it was tolerated, he should’ve been yanked from the game right then. If I see a player sitting on the field in any sport he’s not putting on his cleats, his azzz is out of the game

I watched most of the game, but must’ve missed this part.

Did we seriously have a player sit down on the field to take a break?
Or did I miss a joke somewhere?

During a replay he sat on his rear end on first base , it was unbelievable. I can’t even imagine how many laps my high school coach would’ve made me take

I still remember a game years ago where the great Braves

centerfielder Andruw Jones lollygagged the play on a fly ball that dropped in front of him. Manager Bobby Cox had the umpires stop the game in the middle of live play, just to yank his ar$e out of the lineup.
You respect the game, is what he said, at all times, no matter who you are. That has always stuck with me. Sitting on first base is not respecting the game, plain and simple. It should not have been tolerated.

When my son played. There would be kids looking down at the ants and a ball hit to them but they were more interested in the bugs.
