When BV left for Oklahoma

I about cried like Shane Beamer at a press conference. I thought the era of Clemson defensive domination had ended. Wes has done an excellent job not only maintaining but in some areas improving on Brent’s performance.
They are basically on the field 75% of the game too which makes it even more impressive. We need a Wes at OC and these tigers will be back in the CFP! Is Riley that guy? Only time will tell. I’m going to give him some slack because he walked into a pretty depleted situation. Not so much from talent as it was scheme and overall identity. This full year of creating a new Clemson offense should be exciting

What we need is an office of line that matches the talent of our defensive line. That’s our number one, number two and number three issue on the offense.

Not even close.
Riley is fine. He’s managed the offense very very well considering the needed development of Klubnick. We’re nowhere near running Riley’s full offense. So nice of you to give him some slack 🤣🤣🤣

Wes gets beat on a drive and then immediately adjusts on the next drive and shuts it down. Even BV could only do that after the half. The man can coach, and he seems to be improving each season.

Exactly. Wes adjusts quicker than Brent. Why is that? Brent adjusted at halftime because he had to get in the locker room and talk to Wes about what the opponent was doing and adjustments needed. The brains behind Brent’s defense perhaps? Time will tell. Too early to declare victory but I feel good about the D.
Another huge improvement- Wes’ defense is still very aggressive but gives up WAY less big play busts than Venables D. Wes told you when he came in he was striving to model his defense more like a pro model and give up less big plays. Seems to be working. Plus it takes one less salaried “coach” on the sidelines - get back. My gosh what an embarrassment that was.

Perhaps you should stick to praising Goodwin rather than criticizing BV. At least until we win 2 more Nattys.

InletTiger15® ... I feel your pain over losing Venables and lackluster Offense. But to your point, the Tiger Defense was so efficient vs. Gamecocks on Saturday, the Offense was on the field for 38:00 minutes and the Defense for only 22:00 minutes. Surprising and impressive ...

Those kinds of blitzes would break teams. If we had that last night..... Ratface would have faked an injury not to go back out there.

Yes AND Brent would not have adjusted to that first drive until halftime, when Wes caught him up on what was going on 😉. Rattler and Legette would’ve burned us for two touchdowns off assignment busts. We would’ve trailed at halftime, but exotic blitzes were exciting. Yes they were.

Those kind of blitzes sometimes got us burned too. I think I like what we’re doing better. It isn’t as fun to watch but it’s as effective as it can get
Case point: it wasn’t Rattlers body so much as his soul we broke. You could see it in his face, he knew he couldn’t move the ball against us and possibly he was gonna take a big hit trying

We've actually dominated the time of possession the last four games

by an average of 12 mins per game. We really leaned on the running game these last four games and gave our defense time to rest and coach.

Granted, we’ve gotten better but we were doing a lot of 3 and out drives in the early season. It’s amazing the performance our D gave in those games

Inlet I don't know what game you were watching last night. Clemson possessed the ball for 38 minutes to SC's 22.
OTOH, I fully agree with your assessment of the quality of work that Porkchop is doing. His defenses have been elite - now if we can just improve the offense.
