If they spent more time worrying about executing situational baseball instead of “having fun and staying loose” maybe we wouldn’t be getting swept while scoring 3 runs in 3 games committing more mental errors than physical errors, and having 0 hits with runners on base. 0 for 30 something

Yes, I know that and I think it’s childish and immature to worry about staying loose when you’ve been playing uptight for the whole #### weekend anyways. Nobody gives a #### about watching them be childish and hop on the dugout fence and straddle it acting like the bats are freaking boat paddles, what are we doing? Right after we make mental error after mental error. It’s very clear that the antics did not help us stay loose at all throughout the weekend so at some point it’s time to scrap that childish BS and worry about playing fundamentals softball.

Think that’s the culture of all women’s sports
Volleyball has the hand tap after every play. Basketball has a lot of it also. Think it’s not as serious on the surface as guys. But it is serious to them to win. Lots of trash talk in way of chants dugout to dugout in softball

No, because then I could chalk it up to them being excited from their performance on the field, whereas doing it in the situations that they did yesterday just makes it look like they want attention and makes them look dumb as hell. Who cares if we just let Florida State run around the bases and score without even trying to get them out, we got the “row the boat” segment coming up.

When Jack Leggett was our head baseball coach, I read hundreds of posts here about how the team was too uptight and they needed to loosen up and have fun.
Now, I’m reading that our softball team is too loose and having too much fun.
So are they supposed to be uptight or are they supposed to loosen up and have fun?
It almost, ALMOST, seems like some of you just want to complain and criticize when you don’t get the outcome you want.

It’s all about the time in place and first of all, second do not compare the way men do things to the way women do things ok? men don’t giggle after we make diving catches or just any routine play for that matter. They tried that crap the first game and second game and it never worked in right after making all those mental errors and allowing Florida State to score and take the lead, We just can’t wait to come in the dugout and do our stupid shenanigans. That was so dumb. Btw Jack last coached in 2015. Lots have changed since then

I appreciate it when athletes focus on the task in hand, instead of focusing on other gimmicky, BS that they think the crowds supposed to love. The crowd was there all weekend just sitting around waiting for them to perform and they didn’t. Next time instead of rowing the boat like dumb ##### maybe they should talk about awareness in the field and how not to let runners just walk home without even trying to get them out

Your comments make it obvious you do not know softball or young female athletes at all. They were focusing on the task and the bench was trying to pump up the crowd. Do you complain when the Tigers D-line asks the crowd to get loud in Dearh Valley?

So Charlie what’s your pedigree. What sport did you play. Any awards. All Conference? All State? Dare we say All American? And please don’t make anything up because whatever sport it was you obviously were never on a team that lost a game or went into a slump

What's really annoying is someone sitting behind a keyboard being so critical of a team of Young women that has only been in existence for 4 seasons. Has accomplished more than most ever will.
I've been here for years and don't post often.
Your comment is so negative it required a response.
The true fans love watching these Young women play their game. They are good. Florida State was better.
But they never gave up and the dugout tried to keep the fans and the team in good spirits right up till the last out. Bravo for them we should be proud of the tenacity and fun when dealing with adversity. It is after all just a game. It will not be their life's career like those in some other sports where they have pro aspirations.
It would have been terrible if they spent the last innings pouting in a corner of the dugout.
I love their enthusiasm and hope they never stop having fun.
Thankful their coaches understand.
