I don't think they are unproven

I just think they haven't proven much. Beside RB is a mostly plug and play position. I would much rather be totally unproven and be bursting with talent then the opposite. Between brooks, Howard and CJ in confident we will have a trustworthy back. Much like hot rod coming into last season. How talented or game breaking they will be is another question entirely.

The rest of the cast at RB seems fairly unimpressive.

No line. Hard to win...

This is shaping up to be another year filled with great concern and attention to the skill positions and No emphasis on the one constant that is Always required to win football games. The offensive and defensive lines. Without great play on the line the rest of it just doesn't work. Some things never change and this is one of them. We have plenty of skill in the skill positions but how about the big uglies. How are we shaping up on our lines.

Nothing. I was merely making the point that a huge amount of attention is always given to the skill players and the foundation of any really great team is the linemen. Both sides of the ball. I hope we have a great line this year. If we do we will have a very successful season. I was simply trying to give credit to the linemen by pointing out their importance to a successful program.

Tiger Board(s) don't put emphasis on the lines? Your post made it sound like our program isn't putting emphasis on the lines.

Strictly from observation I would say that our program is putting more emphasis on our big men than in years past.I thought we played well last year in that dept. and stacked up well against our opponents. I absolutely have no way of determining the priorities of this coaching staff so I didn't mean to infer that they were or were not emphasizing the linemen or importance thereof. I do think it is easy to get caught up in the more visible aspects of the game i.e. quarterback, receivers, etc. and maybe over look or under estimate the importance of a great line. A great offensive line will make the most average of running backs look pretty special as well as a quarterback that has plenty of protection and time to execute the offense without pressure. That's about it.
