out on the Googly today. For me, that answer is so easy, it's like cheating. I would HAPPILY do without that annoying feature that shuts off the engine at every stop. My vehicle has a button to disable that feature, but you have to hit the button every time you first crank up. I wish they had just put in a "remember last position" for that button. I would NEVER use that feature if I could avoid it.
How about you all? Any other features that are your pet peeve?

my Camry has a few years on it. The auto climate control seems heck bent on setting the recirc on in hot weather. I'd like to leave it vented so the car might not get quite as hot. I realize the car will still be hot on warm days but not as hot if the vent feature was engaged when it shuts off

Bluetooth! Whenever I drive Ms. The Mole's car (a rare event...we regularly take my truck) her phone will ring and scare the BeJesus out of me!
It always seems to happen when I am driving into an intersection.

Until they get the timing figured out on red lights, I have no problem with not burning gas whilst waiting 8 minutes for a light to change and there is no cross traffic
Never had a car with a heated steering wheel so I guess I wouldn’t miss that if it went away.

that you need to replace the battery even more often than a normal car, erasing any fuel savings. My wife's GMC Acadia has the feature and we need to get a new expensive battery almost yearly. Also, the radio volume does not change when the engine stops which is also annoying.

My 10 year old Honda has only needed a new battery once
Maybe your bigger AC drains it too much?
You are right about the volume though

Same here. My wife's girlfriend has a 2018 Honda Pilot with idle-stop. I do the routine maintenance on it for her and it still has the factory battery.

I had a Buick with the start/stop hybrid system when I lived near Chicago and it didn'tbother me saving gas. However, there were times sitting in gridlock when the engine would start on it's own because the battery had nearly drained. At the time, mine didn't give me an option to shut to disable the system because there were times when I would have.
But today the useless tech is in my Chevy truck. I don't need to have to clear a message on the touch screen about the hazards of using electronic devices when driving eveytime I start the truck and have my phone with me.

Our 2018 Honda CR V won't allow adjusting anything while the vehicle is in gear, that mean radio tone setting, seat adjustments, anything that may need your attention for a second. Another think that has chapped my A$$, why in the H&ll would the maker of Escort radar detectors would put how fast you're going on the front screen. Our vehicle has digital speedometer, and my wife can't see the speed I'm driving from the passenger seat and that great until I turn on the radar detector and there is my speed right on the face of it, and now the biotching starts about how fast I'm driving. It's better than having a cop standing at my window handing me a ticket, but why would Escort do such a dumb thing, I didn't it to show me speed, I bought to help keep the cop from handing me a ticket...

Gotta agree. Instant on radar basically turned every radar detector into a "ticket alert". When GPS and mapping software became popular, I once suggested to Escort that they create their own map database with real-time radar locations from active detectors in peoples cars. Have an interface with the driver's cell phone to warn of an approaching radar. Waze has the same feature except it is based on user input, which isn't as reliable and requires user interaction.

I like cool technology but I really need a clear view of the road. Don't need any weird glares and flashes going on to distract me on the windshield and mirrors.

I hate seat belts also, but they have been proven to save more lives than not wearing them, so I buckle up as soon as I start my engine, and before I put it in a gear. Now I do keep a cheap box cutter where I can reach it, also with the box cutter is one of those punches that will easily break out the window. I would rather have those two things and never need them, than to need them and don't have either one...

Nobody could drive without the front windshield, but I do know what you're referring to, idiots that never look behind or beside them. They are the ones that mirrors are totally useless to them!!!
My biggest complaint is with the Adaptive Cruise Control doesn't know a red light from a green light!!!

I beg to differ. My last major car wreck I was sitting at a Red Light and a car hit me from behind at 35 mph.
Maybe she was confused and was driving down the road looking out the rear window.

There are devices that can be plugged into the harness behind the button that makes it remember the last position, like you are wanting. I have one for my Chyrsler minivan, but works for all Chrysler. Maybe you can find one for yours.

Stinkin’ automatic transmissions.
Think of all the accidents that would not occur because people couldn’t be on a phone texting and shifting gears at the same time, therefore forcing people to pay attention to the road.
Plus, if you don’t have the reflexes, coordination or mobility to drive a stick, then how can you be trusted to drive down the road at 80 miles an hour with other souls on the road with you.

I drive an electric, will never go back to combustion engines. There is nothing to fix except replacing tires, no oil changes, no transmission, never use the brakes except in emergencies, and it goes 0-60 in 3.9 seconds.

My Ford 150 has that. Bought an attachment that the guy put somewhere under the hood that effectively eliminates that hassle. It thinks the button is always “pressed”. Well worth the $95. That was pre-Biden inflation price anyway

If you buy a new Corvette, an automatic transmission is the only option. That's just wrong. Kick it out of gear to blip the throttle at a light? Sigh.
