What this board doesn’t understand is this is Dabos offense

Dabo has more input into this offense than anyone else. Dabo calls a ton of plays during the game. If this offense is going to be fixed, Dabo is going to have to admit HIS offense is terrible and he is going to have to step back. Even if he fires Elliot, this offense will not change unless he butts out and let’s a qualified play caller and game planner come in and do their thing.
Anyone see that happening?

Guess that's reason he's not calling out TE's play calling. He would have 4 fingers pointing back at himself

I have no doubt that Dabo would fire Coach Eliot in a second if he thought it would turn the ship around. The problems are deeper than that. Our five star players aren’t really playing up to their potential. The players we recruited really just aren’t that good. Our coaching is not making this group better. In the past six years we have had either Deshaun Watson, Trevor Lawrence, Christian Wilkins, Clelin Ferrell, Austin Bryant, dexter Lawrence etc. who have all played better than expected. Not the case anymore. Our biggest recruits have been average. Our ability through coaching to get a system to work on offense is missing. Alabama highlights are the same every week. A wide open wide receiver is streaking across the middle of the field catching a well thrown pass in mid stride and racing down field with the football. Our highlights through three division one football games is like watching vintage Tommy West games.

My understanding is that when Chad Morris was calling the plays, Dabo had little oversight. So he's been willing to do so in the past.

That was before he had success and was coaching for his job. Obviously there’s nothing he can do to get fired, so he has free reign to be as arrogant as he wants.

Wrong! I’ve heard that one of the reasons Morris left was because he was sick of Dabo putting his hands in the pot and meddling with the offense and playcalling.

With the exception of some tweaks, the offense is still mostly Chad Morris's offense. Dabo adopted and endorsed it and it is what TE is running. Something is just weird about the whole thing. I understand having issues on offense however they are vying for the worst offense in D1 football! There are issues and then there are ISSUES. Jeff Scott leaving does strike me as a turning point however something very strange what is going on right now. I haven't the slightest clue what it is. I wish somebody with some insight could explain.

This offense is nothing like Chads offense anymore.
Chads offense relied on tempo, pre snap motion, window dressing, and misdirection.
Some of the route trees may remain the same but there is rarely ever any tempo, pre snap motion, or misdirection. This offense has been changed tremendously.

You cannot go fast when two or more people are discussing what to call.

If Dabo is heavily involved in the offense then that would explain

why we don’t go up tempo anymore. The time it takes for Dabo and Elliott to look at the defense, decide on a play, and signal it in doesn’t allow for up tempo.
I would prefer that our offensive coordinator have complete control over the offense. I thought Dabo learned his lesson on this when he and Napier were both calling plays and our offense stunk. I thought Morris was given a lot more freedom, which is why Morris transformed us from a soft team to a more aggressive, hard-nosed team.
It will be pretty disappointing if we have too many cooks in the kitchen again.
Both Deshaun and Trevor had license to audible if necessary, and it is my understanding that they did so a lot. If so, then we were successful in spite of the plays originally called.

that scored 40 to 70 points this weekend and run all of their plays - forget everything they have been practicing.

Nope. We'll have to recruit another Watson or Lawrence.***
